    Ok heres the deal.

The Mach 1 is at Teamironhorse shop. The plan is to forge the engine and do a simple build as fast as possible. The car will be turbo'd with the newest On3 forwards facing header kit.

    Thus far:

TeamIronhorse has pulled the engine and are in the process of swapping out my K-member, A-arms, coil over kit, C/C plates and fuel pump (details).

My task is to rebuild the engine and return it to them with a turbo kit for installation and tuning. I work oil field now and simply dont have the time to get this back together in a timely manner by myself.

The fuel pump is a new pump wich this is the first of its kind. This is a test unit from walbro. It is designed specifically for NON return fuel systems. The pump can be seen here, it is currently not available even though it is listed for sale but should be soon if it test well........UPDATE: WALBRO MAY HAVE A FEW UNITS AVAILABLE BY NOW BEST BET IS TO CALL THEM UP.

So here we go. The best shop in town pulled the plant for me.

Then I broke it down and took it with some ebay chinese H-beam rods and .020 over 4cc probe forged pistons and the stock forged crank to the machine shop.

I ported the exhaust side only of my heads I dont care about the intake side since I dont have the time and I will be forcing the air through it. A little bit of chamber work. This will be a relatively high compression build.

MMR billet oil pump gears came in today. Now I need to get the heads to the machine shop for a 3 angle valve job.

I got the motor done this week. Ready to get it back in the car. Im wanting to get this project done and so far its gone relatively smooth other than I got sent the wrong main bearings but that was an easy fix.

Forged ebay H-beam rods and probe pistons, total seal rings (not gapless), hand ported exhaust side only, ford racing head changing kit and ford racing main bolt kit. Clevite H series bearings all around. Stock mach 1 cams and valves. Painted it just for grins.

I dropped the engine off at the shop for re-installation. While I was there Aaron let me paint the intake and coil covers as well as install my 60# injectors. Using the stock fuel rails and lines. Depending on the fuel pumps function I may test with a kenny bell bap after initial testing is done. (Thanks for staying late Aaron) Also ordered the live wire set up so that Aaron can tune through it and I can monitor the car better than a standard sct chip. Cant wait to get this thing back on the road as it is my daily driver and at this point I need it back ASAP. On3 forward facing kit has been ordered. Hopefully next week we can can get it all put back together but with thanksgiving coming up I can see this going over like a fart in a fan if I need to order any parts. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    Kinda skipped this part.

Car is a 2004 Mach 1 5 speed. Will be running stock trans and rear. Car has a hurst shifter with a home built handle extension bringing the shifter way closer to me for comfort. Im 6'4" and have to shit farther back than most. But the shifter mod made all the difference on comfort.

Over all plan/goal is to make more turbo power than the stock short block could handle but not make so much that the whole car needed to be built up. 500-600rwhp will be plenty.

Future plans include AFS rear wheels and rear control arms.

Will be running a spec stage 3 10 spline clutch with stock Mach 1 flywheel. Motor was bored .20 over with torque plates and top of bores were chamfered and crank was mirco polished and oil holes chamfered. Entire rotating assembly was balanced together including stock harmonic damper and stock flywheel and spec clutch. All Machine work and balancing was done by T&P machine in San Antonio Tx.

Woah man how many projects are you doing right now? Oh on an off topic note, if you get sick of the MPT76 there is a PT88 on my local CL for $650

Still grinding my 97 build out. Having tuning issues with it. I just thought I could bang out some easy power with my mach 1 for not to much cash. Out on a rig now on my phone. Hopeful to have one of my cars going soon. Been busy with work. What's the story on this turbo?

Not exactly sure, I was looking for a V6 decklid so I typed in "Mustang Parts" and it came up. According to the post is is just a PT88 with the .96AR and an elbow welded on. Looks like a good deal, I can check it out if you would like. Still didn't find a decklid though lol.

Just woke up, Over the last three days we gave it our all with the car. After it was finally complete we started it for the first time. It fired right up after 16 hours of wrenching to get it ready for the mach 1/bullet shootout. The problem was it had no oil pressure. It was a sad morning, haha the wind was taken from our sails on the spot. The car has an oil filter relocation kit and we mounted the filter horizontal, could this be causing the issue? I did mic the oil pump gears on install and they match the stock ford units. Im stumped. I have ordered a melling pump to replace the stocker anyways. Hopefully next week I can get it sorted out and back on the road. Heres the details on the car.

    Built engine
on3 performance forward facing turbo kit (fit and finish was beyond perfect)
    spec clutch
Stock 3650 trans (future tko 600)
stock rear (future strange cobra/mach 31 spline axle and c clip eliminator kit and true trac)
full baseline rear suspension (not installed yet)
Wheels: rear-16X8 KMC nova front-17X8 KMC nova
Tires: front-stock rear-28X11.5 MT ET streets

The car looks great, we just need to get the oiling issue solved and finish tuning.

I ended up swapping the hoses on the oil filter relocation kit and the car made oil pressure instantly. Thanks to MMR for helping me sort out the issue. I am more than pleased now. Should have some tuning videos soon.

Not sure on the brand looked like ching chang chong. lol Actually they looked identical to a manley rod. In other news massive ring oil problem. My guess is I got the wrong rings. Im going to be sending the short block out to MMR for a Re-ring job. They seem to be the only ones to offer up issue free products and service besides my tuner (hes not into engine work). With lost time and wasted racing season I just want to see my cars running. Im sure they will get me on the right track. I also plan on robbing the 76mm from my 97 and putting it on the mach. Ill put an 88mm in my 97. No more playing.

I did snap a few more pics and I am very pleased with the look.

Updating this: The motor is now on its 4th install. I have not made a full dyno pull to date. Here's the reasons for the motor issues.
    1. Total seal sold me the wrong piston oiling rings and the motor smoked like a mosquito fogger on first start up.
    2. The car hit the dyno and at 9 psi the boost was bleeding off. After much testing I pulled the engine and found nothing so I replaced head gaskets.
    3. Round two was better but still leaked. I pulled the engine again this time I found a arp stud stretched arp replaced the damaged stud
    4. The car was run again and this time the head gasket leaked at 12psi. I pulled the engine again and found a scratch in the deck right next to the cylinder sleeve and tore the engine down for re-deck and new gaskets again. I also found one set of oil rings broken so I purchased another set again.

Currently the car is back together and up and running. I have changed a few things to make the turbo kit easier to work with as well as my coolant system. I have a lifter or two making chatter so today I am pulling the valve cover to see what I can do to replace the noise makers. The motor runs good now (other than the lifter noise) and so far it appears that the head gasket is finally sealed. If I get the lifter fixed today I will get it on the road and see how the car runs. If everything seems ok it's back to the dyno for finish tuning. Car made 440hp/550tq with 13 degrees of timing and a fat fuel curve. No pulls were to redline, never made it past 5800rpms. I have allot of videos and will make a few to show what I found that in my opinion made the on3 kit work perfect. So far for the money I'm pleased with the kit. So far with the engine I got so pissed off with the tiny parts, metric sizing, small fasteners, and physically massive engine size that I sold my other modular engine for my 1997 and started building a 69 bbf 429. Further video and updates on the mach 1 to follow.

I have a Mach 1 and was wondering what hurst shifter you used and could you post a picture of what you did to extend the handle? Awesome car though, I am building a zinc yellow and yours is a great example.

Sorry for not answering you. I don't have a photo but all I did was cut an offset plate that bolted the the shifter on the trans and then the shifter handle. I used 1/4" steel. It was like an L shape with a drop on it. That moved the shifter up and back toward me some and made it very comfy.

The car had a stretched arp stud! Parts failing like there's no tomorrow in my modular world for some reason.

    Status:
Car has an entirely new plant build by me and used new machine shops. I also used all new parts except the heads.

    Boss modular big bore block
    Kellogg stroker crank
Diamond stoker big bore pistons with valve reliefs
    Redegreed the cams
I cut and ported the intake
Ported the intake side of the heads to go with the already ported exhaust.

I will also be using a different tuner than the last attempt. IMG_0729.jpg #ad
