Ok, so SpeedDaddy on EBay is offering a V-band-outlet 57-trim T04E, and the Turbonetics T04E-57 compressor map looks good for 1.6 bar through at least 2 bar on a 200 HP N/A engine, which the L36 3.8L V6 from a '96 Camaro is supposed to be. I swapped one into an '83 RX-7, and now I'm going to replace the 2.5" muffler with this T4E. I'm thinking of starting with a set of L67 injectors and an L67 tune, or maybe a Split Second -brand AIC. The car already passed emissions as a '96 Camaro the way it sits.

Just a comment.... I bought a turbo from SpeedDaddy about 6 months ago, and it didn't match their advertised specs, it was off by quite a bit.

Thanks! I'm not surprised, but it might be a good baseline. If not, it might go on the 3.4L V6 that came in my '94 Camaro.

Exactly. A T04E 57 trim compressor wheel should measure 56.5/75 mm. Most 57 trim you will find on ebay measure under 51mm which should be sold as a 46 trim or less.

I have had good experiences with the ebay turbos that speeddaddy sells, as long as you know about turbos you should be fine. You need to know how much oil they need, have a good oil drain and feed and also have a good air filter on them.

But... even if you know turbos, there is a big difference when you expect a 56.5 mm compressor, and get a 51 mm compressor. Someone needs to be the guinea pig, and share the results with the rest.... the ebay sellers surely won't help with accurate info, or just don't know anything about what they sell.

Its an interesting idea. But a used Buick turbo can be had for similar $$, and at least you will know what you have. Plus it will be a quality Garrett unit. I see the point in experimenting with the eBay stuff, but it would be difficult for me to not use something that is tried and true on a common engine.

It certainly does, but look at the success of the gt45. I'm not big on the China turbos, but they do have their place. Not everyone can afford a BW, or Precision, and most know what they're buying beforehand.
