Was looking for a large wheel diesel china turbo, but found most suppliers don't list the wheel sizes.

Stumbled across this turbo that cross references to a 1980 - 2013 Detroit Diesel Engines Series 60 14.0L Models with Garrett Turbocharger Number 707866-0001...

Then I looked up the 707866-0001 and the compressor wheel it came with. It's listed as coming with a 704746-0002.

I looked up the 704746-0002 and it's an 87.8/117.7 mm compressor wheel!

Used this handy Garrett comp wheel PDF.

    http://italiaturbo.oneminutesite.it/files/4-2-Compressor_Wheel-D-2013.05.23.pdf

Used this information to find COMP wheel PN.

    http://www.invasionautoproducts.com/turbo-industrial-detroit-diesel-tc-gt4702-707866-0001.html

Also found this is listed as having a 702892-0001 turbine wheel and a 447990-0063 housing. (couldn't find anything on those)

If this is the equivalent of at GT47-88 for $500 that's a steal. I haven't found any ebay sellers that know the actual dimensions either.

Did you happen to look at the compatibility list on Ebay? It lists the turbo for 3.0 thru 15 liters.... I recently bought a cheap t3/t4 turbo on Ebay, and for the most part thought I could trust the wheel specs that were listed as many of the titles, and model numbers mean squat. Well the specs mean nothing as well...lol Looks like the only way to know is to buy one...

Think the original one I was looking at specifically said

"1980 - 2013 Detroit Diesel Engines Series 60 14.0L Models with Garrett Turbocharger Number 707866-0001"

But I hear ya. I hounded several ebay sellers for months before one finally go tback with me on their "69mm" holset super drag HX40. It had a 54mm compressor on it.

I didn't know how large the housings were. Heres one with a caliper though. I agree probably can't be 88 going by that.

The HT60's are only $350 and have a 76mm compressor. I was hoping to find a GT55 ot GT47 clone of some sort.

if you get one you could make an unboxing video

the calipers make it look like about 75mm looking at the mm scale (looks like it starts at 25mm and goes to 100mm)

I bet you are right with it being a 75mm, it looks like a clone of a garrett gt4202,

Ive been searching ebay for a S480+ clone to try out.

Hot rod magazine just dyno tested a gt45 kit on a gen 1 smallblock and came up with some decent results. I think it was the china auto dynasty kit and it showed all the shortcomings too. Spectre hat and homemade blowthru. Interesting reading

You really need to do some research. Viren is good people and takes care of all of his customers. Also he is a sponsor on this board. He is getting his own billet wheels made for his turbos and doing them VERY cost effectively. They are making TONS of power also. I think his billet S480 china turbo flow 137lbs per min and if I remember right his new billet s488 flow something like 150lbs per min or more. Even guys like John Bewley are working with him and selling his products because they are that good and he stands behind them. I wouldn't hesitate to put anything VSracing sells on my car based on his product support, customer service, quality, and price.

There are a couple videos on youtube that show some of the cheap chinese turbo that the sellers say they're one size and he guy making the video actually measured the size of it and it was completely different, so i would say look up the videos and see if you are still interested in buying...
