Hey guys, im gunna go ahead and get stupid. I have a 2001 hyundai elantra 2.0L DOHC 5 speed I picked up 3 years ago for $500 from a buddy who said it needed work. Yeah, like tires paint headlight wheel bearings and brakes lol. Anyhow, I needed a better gas mileage car than my 4.3l s10 that needed LOTS of work, so i sold the truck for $450 and bought the car with a fish tank in trade. Yuo, I said FISH TANK lol.
Turns out, really great car. I fixed it up, new slave and master. Made solid roll mounts for the transmission, sage 2 clutch, lightened flywheel, solid shifter bushings. Found all these parts EASY. Turns out, this car is the same power train and suspension/brakes as a tiburon. I know in the States that doesn't mean much, but in Korea it does! They are nuts about these cars, have some over 700whp fwd!
Anyhow, the car has taken myself and family PLUS a DIY roof rack full of luggage thru the Smokey Mountains from St. Louis to Charleston SC with the A/C on getting 32mpg the whole way... with 180K on the odometer.
Strong engines, can handle 400 whp on stock rods, with proper tune, of course.
So I decided to go turbo. Can easily get parts for it so why not. I've already gathered parts and have a bunch on order. Should end up being a pretty good sleep that gets good mileage and can go road trip no problem.
PERFECT for what I want out of it.

So most of the ebay "50 trim" turbos are really 44 trim and t04b .50 a/r compressors. This is, I measured, a 50 trim .50 a/r compressor housing. So t04b, not a t04e as it should be, BUT, it is a 50 trim wheel, unlike most of the ebay 50 trims.

Wynton Motors 38mm SS wastegate and RS style BOV. They make great products. MADE IN USA. The adapter pipe for the bov also came with it, it's SS.
I've used their gates and bov's before. No problems and they have their own sound to them.

I plan on running alky/meth on it for a low boost setup. I already have a 190lph Walbro pump vs the 135lph stocker in the tank. The 190cc stock injectors run at 85% duty with the 135lph, so running the 190lph pump on the stock injectors will give enough fuel for around 4 psi safely. These cars run rich til 3500 rpm at WOT with the stock fuel system anyways. I plan on starting out with 4 psi and going up slowly til I lean a little and then add my alky/water DIY setup. Then adjust my meth kit to handle the difference for fuel and set it at 8 psi or so.
After I get it running that way, I plan on an AEM F/IC and 550cc injectors. Should handle 275whp no problem, and I won't be breaking crap all the time and still get decent mileage from it.

It is a decent little car, handles well already. I've upgraded the sway bars already, have an upper strut bar on its way. Also just bought a set of 17x7.5 rims for next spring/summer.
This little car takes some abuse too, I drive it hard alot. Leaves a nice second gear too!

Here is the E-Motors(emusa) front mount intercooler. It's 28x8x2.5 core

And the rims I've ordered. Should get here in a week or so.

I will take some pics of the car and upload them as soon as it gets a wash this weekend. It's nothing fancy, but that's the point!

I heard somewhere that those 2.0 DOHC used in these Elantras were based on the 4g63s... don´t know how much of this is true but if it is indeed similar to the 4g63... it should be stout and easy to build.

It will be a nice sleeper lol.

Designed by the same guys who did make the 4g63t.
The older single cam 4g63, you could swap the dohc head from the elantra onto. Also, the struts and brakes all swap from the 95-99 dsm platform with little modification. Pretty solid little cars.
Just ordered my Innovate MTX-L Wideband o2 gauge kit. Will have 2.5" exhaust already ordered. High flow cat, straight thru oval muffler, and already have the 2.5" aluminum intercooler pipe kit
Going to be running 2 meth nozzles after the bov. One on at 4 psi, the other at 6-8 psi or so, depending on the AFR

I'm probably going to fiberglass my gauge pods into the stock gauge cluster bezel and on the steering column top cover. Try and hide them so not easily seen when I pull up on the unsuspecting hot rodder or ricer.
Figure a 250whp 2600lb car should scoot pretty good. Has 3:56 gears in the difference, stock ratio. Pretty torquey lil thing.

Also here is a pic with my rim next to the car to give an idea. Kinda wish I went with white but mite spray them the same color as the car later. Many shades of white and I want a perfect match, couldn't guarantee that with just buying them in white. 20160907_161332.jpg #ad

Bought a set of dual piston calipers for an 03 hyundai xg350. My stock size are 10" rotors and single piston, these are for 11".
    04-up xg350 has 12" rotors.

I have to get 2003 sonata 4cyl 11" rotors to fit these, and I already made a rear disc conversion using calipers and rotors from an 03 tiburon and made my own mount brackets since the stock calipers for the rear mount to the spindle. I didn't want to spend the $150-$300 for those.

I'll get picks of the rear conversion when I'm doing the exhaust system. That'll be the next time it's up in the air anyhow. 20160909_201836_1473470338994.jpg #ad

Had a little time to get some work done on the kit. Not much, but came up with how I'm mounting my wastegate.
Didn't want to hack up the manifold, and since my turbine is setup for internal wastegate, I hole sawed the turbine outlet flange and tacked up a bend and gate flange. Should clear the power steering and a/c fan. Going to be close to the fan for the dump tube but I can wrap it and should be good.

Probably going to port the wastegate hole on the turbine before I put it back on the CHRA. Also, the reason the hole is positioned where it is, I used a gasket for a stencel. Was the only gasket I could find that had the gate hole but should be fine, especially after port matching.
