We have just acquired a project that I will be listing in the building section soon. It is basically a 94 Mustang GT that already has a 25.5 cage in it and all the updated suspension pieces still in the boxes. It is basically set up for Ultimate/Ultra Street class but still very capable of being streetable. We are looking at going the one 76mm turbo route, by class rules, but my question is does the location matter? I have seen several who have it forward drivers side and although I know because of space limitations we will have to mount forward, I also thought passenger side might be better to counter the drivers weight. Is there a particular reason for one side over the other?

You have heard of jumping into the fire with both feet? Well for us this is jumping in to the fire with both feet and gas socked clothes! All of this is new to us, we are both old fast bracket racers that raced an altered and a dragster fuel injected on alcohol, so full bodied, turbos and electronic fuel injection is a whole new world for us! Lol So please be kind with our stupidity!

Are you going to run a A2W core up front too?

Not sure I am familiar with an A2W core up front. I have seen them in the passenger seat and in rear but all I have seen up front is an A2A. But with that being said, we have been giving intercooling a lot of thought. Because we would like it street friendly not big on the idea of A2W system with a big core and intake tubing. I not sure if A2A is efficient enough for track duty so have kind of been looking at the system that sandwiches a core between the Holley high rise intake, as I have seen this one used succesfully. I guess Meth Injection is also a consideration, but dont have enough info on it yet. But once again, this is all subject to change as we learn.

Is it going to be set up for a specific class? or just a play grudge car?

I think to start we are going to be more play and grudge until we are comfortable with the car and what we are doing, which could be a while! Then I think we will go with Ultimate Street. We are doing the chassis to fit the class now but wont go with all the fiberglass doors, front end, etc until we are ready to move up. The car has already been mini tubbed, front sheet metal cut in front of the shock towers (but still retained frame) and lost most of core support. 25.5 cage, built 8.8 narrowed with 9" ends, adjustable trailing arms, re-enforced torque box, anti roll, all tubular front end with adj coilovers, etc. Still have stock dash (but will go fiberglass eventually) factory door panels, stock (but lightened) doors, factory glass.

I was just wondering from the builds I have seen on here if there was a reason people went with one side or the other.

I would say that if push came to shove I'd do passenger side. The reasons are simply that there is more room for a down pipe since you don't have to work around the brake booster, steering shaft etc.

Turbo wise I'd consider some form of large frame (T6) turbo even if you run a T4 turbine initially. What's your engine choices looking like?

The passenger side was what we were thinking also. The classes were are looking at restrict you to a 76mm Turbo so we would use the T6 frame and we are building a stroked LS motor. 6.0 iron block to 406.
