Mill the plenum divider 1/2-inch while the manifold is off. This will give you a bit more balanced air/fuel distribution between the cylinders when using a dual plane manifold in a blow-through combination. It's not a fix-all in terms of distribution as compared to a single plane manifold, but it will help.

Makes sense to me, will do. Port matching this manifold today anyway so I'll get that done. Thanks

Pm me an address and I'll ship it. I'm moving away from sbc stuff so I'd rather it go to use.

Thanks so much to 73 Nova for offering me the intake! really means a lot especially being on such a tight budget.

Got the heads today, they look awesome, nice big 7/16 studs and all comp hardware. Hands down the nicest part of this motor now haha. I'll get some pictures when they're on the car. In the mean time I've been stripping paint off the hood because it had a pretty noticeable/ large scrape that took the paint right down to bare metal. Anyway I thought it would look cool and actually sort of match the all the silver/ grey them going with the car if I just left it bare besides some clear coat. The quality of the finish isn't what I want yet, but it looks pretty good already in my opinion. Bottom side has been polished with some heavy cutting stuff and the top has only been stripped.

I've cleared over bare metal on some of my bikes, rust ALWAYS finds it's way in. This is my KZ750 chop. Rust with bare metal flames, as you can see, it's about to have to be redone.

IMO you'd be better off re painting it.

Damn that's a bummer. How do the guys do it that do the entire car like that? Just tons of maintenance? Not gonna lie even with some rust that tank still looks awesome

The hood also never gets driven in the rain or even wet at all so I'll give it a try wth clear coat and if starts to look like shit I'll paint it up.

Thank you. I keep my bike in the dry. Be ready to re do it every so often. Rat rod stuff is more of a high maintenance pain in the ass than most will admit. Just trying to be sure you know what you're getting yourself into. Badass, yes. Easy, no. The best way I've found is clear adhesion promoter and clear over that. The paint job on that bike is 7 years old now. It's lasted better than anything else I've tried, and believe me, I've tried hard to find the solution to the rust problem. I used to own a body shop (ASE and Du Pont certified) where I specialized in high end chevelles, so I'm very familiar with all the products.

I'll go that route then, and like you said it does look pretty awesome so I have no problem redoing the surface once every one or two years

Heads back on, motor runs great. I'll strap a GoPro to the car on Sunday possibly and get video of a few pulls and driving

Haven't been doing much to the car lately, been busy with work and it's running without any serious problems still *knock on wood* but the bonnet is almost done, I still have to strip the paint from the side panels to match the hood and exhaust and finish cutting the bottom panels but that won't be much work. Gotta say I like it a lot more with the side panels on.

So I blew a head gasket and burnt 3 quarts of oil out of the exhaust haha :swear: but miraculously the short block seems alright. Gonna throw some new head gaskets in and turn the boost up... Let's see what happens

I was wrong, when the block overheated some of the piston rings destroyed themselves because I found magnetic metal pieces in the oil pan, the stock ring gap was too tight obviously, and that block is in the Garbage. Gonna look around for the another block but around here there just aren't that many sbcs laying around anymore. Might have to go the 305 route which id rather not do but it would be cheap. We'll see.

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear. Hope you get it going again soon. Have you tried craigslist or any blocks?

Yeah I'm looking around now but around here junkyards don't have a single small block anymore. Looking around craigslist now but it's hard to find a worth it deal with so many what ifs regarding the state of the engine I'm buying. I need to get my block down bare (haven't removed rotating assembly yet) and see if the block is reusable, but I'd still have to drop some serious cash (for me) to replace the rotating assembly. I think if I went with a forged bottom end it'd be around 1500-2000 bucks. a buddy of mine has a tired 350 that I might give a try but it's sort of a last resort because he told me it wasn't running great either. I'll hopefully have a solution or a plan in mind by next week.

I think there were 2 gt40s, 4 Cobras (2 were real) and some other gorgeous challengers and gtos. Not to mention a bunch of super cars. I was parked between an Aston and a Bentley hahah
