No sir. Only on ball bearings if you have a lot of oilpressure.

How would this gt45 76 or 80 compare to a s480 castwheel with t4 1.25 a/r 96mm turbine? I make 740rwhp/620tq at 6500. However, it is very laggy and I am looking to see what i can do to get low / mid range power back. In fact, the s480 is down to my old mp76 100rwhp/tq until 5000 rpm. The mp was at 12lb boost with 3" downpipe thru exhaust with an air filter and the s480 was no air filter with open 4" downpipe and 16lbs of boost. The S480 starts making boost at 4000 and reaches target at 6000. My combo is a R331/ tw 205 heads / f cam / victor efi intake/ stick shift that is tuned with mega squirt by speedy dyno. The S480 definitely has more in it if I spin it harder, however I would rather make similar hp and have that low end tire frying fun that the smaller turbo provided and not have to spin the motor 7500. What do you think?

The 69mm version of this turbo is unbeatable for the money. I ran 9.18@149 with one on a sbe 4.8l in my 240. Race weight was 2950 with me
In the car. Can't speak for the other versions. Always wanted to try one but once you get to that 500+ price point I had trouble spending the money. I went with an s475 for this build. I do have intentions of doing a twin gt45 69mm build in the future.

What sort of milage are people getting out of the original 69mm version? Anyone daily drive with one?

A friend has had one for just over 4000 miles and it is blowing oil out now.

Is it best to run an oil feed restrictor on these?

What size feed, drain and (if running) restrictor size are you guys using?

I am using a -4 AN feed line no restrictor, with a 5/8" piece of metal conduit for a drain line. No oil problems at all. I have a Hi Volume pump with a low / stock pressure spring in the pump. Turbo is still pretty new but I do not have any signs of oil coming out of it. So far so good.

What are you guys using for an air filter? I dont have much room, the filter that I had on my s366 is now too long and the cheap Spectre filter I have on there now may be too short

Here are my twin GT45's on a mild 351W. Boost response is a little slower than a single S480 but overall I'm quite impressed. It starts making positive manifold pressure at 3k and full boost is around 4k. Feels like a low 10 high 9 car on 12 psi. Looking for mid 8's on 20-30 psi.

This photos was right after I fired the car. The tubing was recycled from a used fire truck exhaust system and one was darker than the other.

In your picture, it looks like these come in a "left" and "right" version. Is this true?

Had my car out this weekend with these turbos. Best pass was a 9.25@148 on 20 psi boost. Car weight is 3200 lbs with driver.

I have a question re: the trim calculation on these? I just bought a GT45 with the below specs. I tore it apart for inspection and measurements. The inducer/exducer sizes are as advertised, but how do they calculate the trim = 69? When i run the normal formula, [int2/ext2] x 100 i get a much smaller value. Is there another variable im missing in the math or is the 69 trim a misprint?

    Compressor Size: Inlet = 4 3/16", Inducer = 68.7MM, Exducer = 97.8 MM, Trim = 69,A/R = 0.66
