Did you run it with the low impedance injectors?

Did not run right at all with the lows. So hopefully the high ones will fix the problem.

Yeah....I dont think the injector drivers in the MS2 can handle low impedance units (at least 4 for each driver, they can handle 1 per driver) without some resistor bank or auxillary unit of some sort.

I've got an injector driver I used with my PMS before I went to the BS3. Not sure if it's compatible with the MS system or not but thought I'd throw it out there.

So quick question. I am going back to the stock ecu. A9P. I have a nipple on my elbow strictly for the MAP sensor that was for the MS. Now my questions are

1.) can i just route the hose back to the stock MAP sensor on the fire wall.
2.) Since going turbo, do I need the MAF sensor going to the intake. And do I need one for the 60# injectors///because im using the stock ecu again....

    Thanks in advance!!!!!!

    1. As far as I know the Fox body doesn't use a map sensor. It uses a BAP(Barometric Air Pressure) sensor with no hose hooked to it. It was used to check barometric pressure like when changing altitudes.

    2. You would need a MAF sensor if using the stock ecu.

why are you giving up on the MS, it has incredible tuning capabilities?

The parameters on how the car is set up now and the way I want to use the car its just not in the cards. This way , the stock ecu and flash, should make drive-ability more easy for the car itself and me. That's just personal belief....

side note just purchased a UPR drive shaft spacer for the mustang. Figured it would be a good 50.00 insurance for it.

Just got off the phone with the shop. They have been working on the car for the past week........................ (($300.00))
Need to order up a flange and MAF meter which is about ........................... (($300.00))
    Weld a flange before the T/B ...........................(($75.00))
Remove and replace spark plugs, wire up MAF sensor, install ecu, rewire gauges, ect.......................$300.00-$400.00
    And custom ecu flash/dyno tune...............................((1200))

    So about $2000-$2500

I'm sorry, but that's way too much money to go back to an outdated computer with limited tunability. And 1200 for a tune is ridiculous, I'd find another shop/tuner stat.

So I have been thinking about this real hard, AND I just cant come to terms with spending close to 2500.00 on this.

    Need your advice.

Option one: Pay the shop the 300 that i owe and tow it back to my house. Pull the spark plugs and change them out. Pull the 83# injectors and install the 60# high impedance ones. Try and tune it using megasquirt.

Option two: Pay the shop the 300 that i owe and tow it back to my house. Pull the spark plugs and change them out. Pull the 83# injectors and install the 60# high impedance ones. Buy the 300.00 MAF and weld it in myself,,,, Hook up the A9P and use quarterhorse and mail in tune?

Option three: Pay the shop the 300 that i owe and tow it back to my house. Pull the spark plugs and change them out. Pull the 83# injectors and install the 60# high impedance ones. Buy a used MAF calibrated for 60# injectors and use the moats with A9P?

I still don't see why you can not use the 83 low z with your MS2 (same set up I run, so I know it can be done)? I think if you read the megamanual and MS forums a little more and did all the needed research needed to set the car up it would run just fine. Don't know where you live but I am sure someone on here would help you if you live close enough. If you go back to the stock ecu every time you change injectors you will have to buy another $300 maf and it will not take long with the s475 to max the 60lb out. Also if you are thinking about stock ecu options I would Pm mike86stang and get his thoughts cause this is what he uses.

Thank you 92LX-5.8 for your opinion. Much appreciated. I will try the 60# and install new spark plugs too. As for turbo its a 76mm on3 turbo....i switched. I see where you are going with the stock ecu as being the worse of the two, with the MAF hindering the ordeal. I did talk to Mike a week or so ago and he is the one who mentioned going Moates. As for people around me I have not a clue as to where to start for help. Most foxs' i see around here (buffalo NY) are stock or stroked out. I really want to see if the MS and the 60# will start to work in my favor because I have it already. If not Ill step up and buy the MAF and Moates.

First those 60's will support a good bit of power.. at least 600hp or more (my duty cycle was good at 570hp and still had a good bit left). You probably would be better off with 80's since you already have them.

As much as I like my Moates, the learning curve is much steeper and longer then using mega squirt. Took my 3 weeks to get the car to idle properly, another week to be able to drive it. Almost a year to get it the way I wanted it.. and I still found more power and drive-ability right before I started pulling everything apart. The Moates & stock ECU can support a lot of the same things as MS does, it's just trickier to get it worked out, plus there are a lot or " work arounds".
Mega Squirt is so much simpler.

In the interest of saving time and money, I would suggest sticking with the 80's and the mega squirt. Just take the time to learn/ figure it out.. you will need the knowledge down the road regardless of which system you decide to use.

If you decide to use the moates, I can hook you up with a base tune to be able to drive it, but it will need a lot more work to make it right.

In theory could i use a base line tune.....(say some one else tune that has a similar set up)......for MS like you suggested for the Moates? Then work from there. I just want the damn thing to idle right and have noo idea where to start. Apparently where I live no tuner wants to touch MS for some reason.....maybe because they will make more money knowing that its a close tune/Chip that they tune with???? I have no idea.

If some one here can get the car to idle through megasquirt or show me what sites to look at to maybe start this over the winter, i can do that.

As for the 83# injectors I have no idea why they wouldnt work but for some reason, probably the tune, they would flood the motor as I stated in post #130

I'll look and see if I can find my MS tune from when I had 60s on my turbo 351 last year. I now have 80s because I changed to e85.
