Hello, was hoping to get some tips from the gurus on which components to or kits to look into for the following goal
-I want to run mpfi with megasquirt and Boost
-1000 HP potential on the components
-Cost saving ideas on manifolds, throttle bodies, sensors, injectors, etc
-which distributor to run to control timing with megasquirt

    Some background on the car;
    -71 nova
-383 stroker dart block, dart pro 1 230cc heads, Inconel exhaust valves, dished forged pistons, rings gapped for boost, howards hyd roller cam, forged H beam steal rods, 4340 forged crank... etc
    -full tci tubular frame,
    -narrowed 4 link rear
    -mini tubbed
    -10 point cage
    -aeromotive stealth A1000 fuel Cell
-12 inch wilwood disc brakes front and rear
-currie built ford 9'' rear 3.73 Detroit true trac posi gears (too high for boost I know, I am looking into getting different gears)
-4L80E trans with TCI shift computer

Any help on favorite or tried and true components for the MPFI system would be much appreciated!

Ok, Dizzy could be a small cap HEI. Easy to get, easy to get bits for. I would use an LS1/6.0 cable style TB maybe even an OEM one ported out a bit. Should be decent for your application.

The problem with intakes are you'll run into a few things. First the stock TPIs suck at that HP level. You could convert an LT-1 intake, you can convert a carb intake or you could run a Holley Stealth Ram. I will tell you for the LT-1 conversion the HSR, a TPIS Miniram, etc. you need the TPI accessory brackets. Can't use TPI may be able to use carbed ones. Not sure really. This can be a HUGE headache if you don't expect it. Another huge headache is that they run oval TBs which aren't really quite a 4" line. The 4bbl setup is nice because it lets you use standard carb bracketry and has a form factor like a carb.

The down side of a carb style setup is you have to get a bonnet for it which is a fairly significant added expense.

The best way to save money on such a setup is to be patient, find it on Craigslist or Evilbay and get a good deal complete. Least headache typically too.

Thank you for the insight, I was sort of shying away from the ram style because of a few things that I read on boosted application blowing by the front cylinders somewhat and could cause some lean cylinders. I really wanted to go with carb style intake with the injector ports, I can deal with the expense of a decent bonnet. What would be the difference in drivability with one of those edelbrock elbows and an LS style single blade throttle body (with a progressive linkage)? I do want to license the car and drive it around on low boost. Thanks for the advise on the Dizzy, was leaning that route, would also like recommendations on Coil since the small cap has no coil in it would I need something epoxy bedded? Also would I need a specific voltage for that much boost (maybe 18 to 20 psi is the highest I would ever go)? Right now I have the everything I would need to run it carbed, and I am trying to sell it to cover some cost of mpfi components.

Kinda expensive for an intake and rails .

Have you looked into Holley HP ?

Holley injectors are nice also .

Coming from a first time EFI tuner .........Holley was hard to beat .

Then switching to LS coils is very easy and not that expensive either . Cam sync $ 125 , crank trigger and sensor $ 250 , coils $ 180

    Once you go CNP .......
