Sounds like the spool times are ok for the turbo. So you are saying that with anything over 5deg initial your engine pings. The SN-95 timing tables are totally different than the A9L which were only RPM based. I think that is the main reason the SN-95 cars are harder to tune. The timing tables are more 3 demensional on the 94/95 cars. Here is what the stock 5 speed timing table looks like: (hope this comes out right)

    RPM
    900 - 1100 - 1300 - 1500 - 2000 - 2500 - 3000 - 4000 - 5000
    .9 9 11 13 17 19 21 22 24 25
    .8 10 11 15 18 21 23 24 26 26
    .7 12 18 19 20 23 25 26 28 28
    .6 15 19 21 22 25 27 28 30 30
    .5 19 25 30 30 30 30 30 32 32
    .4 21 26 31 34 36 37 38 40 40
    .3 35 35 35 36 38 39 40 40 40
    .2 35 32 35 40 40 40 40 40 40
    .1 35 28 28 28 28 28 28 28 28
    Load

There was an article I read years ago on these cars in relation to timing and how it works. If you install a larger MAF (which you did) you computer sees lower loads at the save given rpm as with the stock meter. You also installed a MAF with a high flow range vs voltage which I believe will also change your timing tables. My car has a stock meter and never goes base .74 load when I data log with my TwEECer. So basically if your MAF is not seeing enough air to get past .6 or .7 load your timing tables not ideal or too much timing may end up being added. A TwEECer or chip tune would probably really help your car. There are like 4 or 5 other timing tables on these cars that really effect how the car runs. I bet a good chip tune or TwEECer would make a world of a difference.

What mufflers? Flowmasters suck for turbo cars if you have these.

He said no mufflers at all.

I forgot to mention that we spent a long time trying to tune it, and now it seems as though the engine is quite tunned, first time it has been running real smoth even at idle.

Is there a way to have a "basic" tune on something like the tweecer and then have someone modify it throught the net?

I know my timming might be a little off but it should be high enough to make much more power.

    anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks,
    RoadRage.

Yeah, it could be done that way, there is a tweecar mailing list I believe. I think Brade knows them VERY well, maybe he could offer help as well if you had one.

Yes if you go to http://tweecer.oplnk.net you can talk to several other TwEECer users. I just noticed your location. Is that were the car is and where you race? I can't imagine any type of racing over there.

Yep, thats where i am and tahts where my car is and that is the cause of most of my problems.

all in all i would say we have 20 late model musatangs here, maybe 5 of wihch are 5 liter, they were never officialy brought here so there is no garage support, all the parst i get form the us, shipping and custom charges are a pain.

And to top all that off no one know how to mess with these cars, not a single tuner...

Oh well, you know love is in the genes.. mine had to be the stang...

About races.. it's all iligal here... but we manage, we actually won in our supreme court to make racing legal. but the police will not hear of it, and the department of motering will not hear of it as well...

how much is the cheapest i can get for a tweecer RT? (dont really care if it's used )

    Thanks,
    RoadRage.

    Thanks for all the replies,
i have onw moew question about the tweecer, i have 30# injectors and a prom-m claibrated for them, if i decide to go to larger 42# injectors, can i stay with the same pro-m and just chage the readings through the tweecer?

Next week i will try a leakdown test and put a wide band on it.
hopfull also order a tweecer. i'll let you know what i turn up.

Yes you can. I have 42# injectors, and a MAF cal'd for 36# injectors. I just entered the proper MAF transfer curve for the meter, and the injector size, and it works great. The only problem you may have is maxing out the MAF meter. That's an airflow issue though. If you are flowing enough air to peg the meter's output at 5 volts, then you need to step up to a higher calibration.

I owned a 1994 GT, with a 5-speed transmission -bought it in 1998, started to mod the hell out of it'¦..first few runs were lousy-92-93 mph in the 1/4'¦.mid 15 second car totally stock and weighed in at around 3600 lbs with me in it/almost empty fuel tank'¦..then did an a9L computer, edelbrock performer 5.0 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, A Holley systemax Intake, 70mm T-body and 24lb injectors'¦.using a C&L mac (73mm)'¦.First time at Firebird raceway-when I lived in AZ--with that combo ran 104.7 mph, on street tires, low 14 second 1/4 mile'¦.Then I did a single T04 turbo, 42 lbs injectors, air to air I/C, and ran 6-7 PSI--It now ran 112.8 MPH--Roughly 9 mph better, and at the time was about 200 lbs lighter than stock-(alum heads, no rest seat, custom front bucket seats, A LOT of weight removed!) Then one night I ran at 10-11 psi on street legal drag "slicks"'¦Spun the tires from 1st -4th gears--had lousy times--MPH came in at 116.9---this calculated out to 510 crankshaft horsepower'¦..It takes about 10 HP to get 1 MPH faster in the 1/4--or about 100 lbs weight reduction--with this weight class of cars (3000-3600lbs)'¦I figured I was done playing at the strip unless I went to slicks at that point'¦.I didn't want to do that, so never went back with that car'¦.Your values are not to far off of what I would expect to see with a stock 1995 computer'¦..Just going to the A9L mod seemed to be a MAJOR improvement on how my stang ran'¦.and how I could tune it with a tweecer'¦you might try that as your next upgrade--just keep your wires organized when you re wire your harness for the A9L.
