I know some will argue this, but a restrictor should be your last resort on a journal bearing imo. Many oem setups run much larger than -3 without issue, and many people just add a restrictor without any idea of what they have for an oil supply to the turbo.. Your drain angle doesn't actually look too bad in that second pic, much better than I was expecting. -12 hose wouldn't be a bad idea if you can fit it also.

Just my opinion . . . BUT With the drain in the front, the oil all flows toward the front of the pan.

Having said that - tthe drain is blocked or could possibly be blocked by the oil rushing toward the front of the pan which would back up or stop flow from the drain into the oil pan.....

I've always done my drains on the side and far forward and this has worked without issue. Also, the check valve inline - it could stop drainagevfrom turbo to pan. Also, I have always placed the drain inline with the main caps in order to block the windage in crank case. Also, run the crank case vent tube in the valley cover, oil fill cap AND the driver side into an open air/no restriction can. These things have always been enough on all my turbo setups. Don't chase a big problem - crank case pressure makes it so that the amount of pressure will be higher than the amount of pressure that is in the drain line.

    Hope that helps...

I should have specified when braking - AFTER a long pull like what you're explaining.

Yea I'm going to try things little at a time, it will be after I'm back from work I will move the drain to the side of pan to start with. Then go from there. thanks for all the help

We played with a journal bearing chineese 76 and boy did it smoke without a restrictor. Put one in and it lived happily ever after with no failures. Also if you determine its crankcase venting, buy a Z06 or CTSV valley cover. 100% improvement over the normal stuff.
