10% is too much? Says who?

Looks like you're right Cal. Chris called PTC and they thought 10% was fine and that Lenny's converter was working well.

What kind of slip do you see on your rocket ship? I always thought 10 or less was the goal.

Yeah, like Shaun said I spoke with Tim and he said he didn't think it was killing me to have a little over 10% converter slip. I like that he didn't just try to sell me a $1K converter, said Lenny made good stuff and to see what he said. Still waiting to hear back from Lenny to see if he thinks we should do anything with the converter.
Also looking at going sequential with the EFI as I am still running the stock distributor. My tuner is suggesting picking up a dual sync dizzy and cam sensor and not going through the hassle of adding a crank trigger. Don't know squat about this but looking into it now. Other plans are to upgrade the safety stuff, adding the window net and parachute mount and seeing if I will need any upgrades to the cage, which I will also have to get certified. Cam doesn't seem to be much of an issue per John Bewley, so mechanically it looks like I just need to get some 160lb injectors and see about the converter and sequential EFI. Also looking to add some back pressure fittings so I can see if I am maxing out this current turbo, and how bad my exhaust system is hurting me. I like how quiet the car is now though (and running tailpipes) so not sure I'll make any major changes if I don't have to.

Spoke with Lenny and will be sending the converter in for him to tighten it up a bit.

Now I need to find some 160 lb Injectors.

Damn, I need to work on my patience. Could have waited a while before picking up the injectors.

Just in case anyone else might be looking to get rid of some parts I will need this winter below is a list of the upgrades I am still looking into making as funds become available.

Want to replace my old MSD 6AL box with a Digital 6
SFI 3.2A/15 Fire suit or pants and jacket
    Neck brace or Hans device
    Fire suppression system
Boost controller (boost leash or ams 500 possibly)
    Need a window net
Parachute mount kit with bumper, release handle, cable etc., (planning to go with the Wolfe Racecraft chute mount kit).
Will need a Stroud 4301 chute

Read your whole thread. All the ups and downs sound familiar ;)

Did you ever figure out the crank case issues?

Thanks, yeah thats what makes this board so great, so many people's experience to learn from. My crankcase issue must have been the crazy rich afr with the PMS, issue disappeared once that was straightened out with the BS3.

Well got the 160's installed tonight. Took some major changes to get the car to idle with them, had to drop the fuel pressure from 50psi down to 38psi and took out about 50% of the global fuel just to get it to idle close to 13-14:1. Putting my 95# injectors up for sale if anyone here might be interested. Also ordered the chute mount kit from wolfe racecraft today. Need to pick up an MSD dual sync dizzy and the sync signal kit now to go sequential.

Chris, if your are going to be using the Dual sync for timing control, we had major problems with it in the upper RPM ranges, we were getting spark jump in the cap pretty bad. They may have been revised and are better now, just do some research on them first. I would run a crank trigger setup for the best accuracy and reliability.

I'll talk to my tuner Anthony. He said something about going with a phased rotor if that might address the situation you were having. Dizzy part number MSD 2358, sensor PN MSD 2346 and the phased rotor were the parts he told me to switch to.

That dizzy looks like it has a small cap. I don't know if you could put a cap-a-dapt on it to have the larger cap? If you can the adjustable rotor will be different. The small cap can cause problems at higher RPM.

I would agree with Anthony that a crank sensor would be better. With just a water pump and alternator it wouldn't be too bad.

Ok so it's the size of the cap that's the problem? Sounds like the limited space between the terminals on the smaller cap is an issue. Would the distributor be compatible if I were to go with the crank trigger setup or is the distributor different too? Sorry if these are noob questions, still researching.

Also, is there a crank trigger setup that's recommended? MSD has PN 8640 with the wheel and sensor, but not sure if I would have to buy a special distributor as well or if you can make the stock one work.

Here is some info if you are thinking about the crank sensor route. The Fast wheel is thinner than the MSD. The crank pulley would be spaced outwards so the water pump pulley and the alternator would have to be also. I know sounds like a lot of work.

A dizzy would have to be modded to work as the cam sensor. There is enough people on here that will be able to help to make it less painfull if you go this route.
