What does everyone think about turbo vs nitrous? If it were the same car and driver, which run in it would be faster on the street nitrous or turbo?

I am not a racer so school me on this. Why is nitrous better than a turbo on the street? What about a blower?

 

nitrous is instant power that can be modulated or controlled by several stages and electronic controllers...

roots blower is instant; but overwhelming the tires easily on the street.
centrifugal blower is great also; but on the street I've had slower vehicles with traction keep up with me while I'm fighting for traction

I do like the show, if nothing else it's good entertainment for a car guy. It's also good to see the rivalries fade away when it comes time for out of town challenges, they stick together. I just started seeing the shows because we don't have cable, and satellite sucks here (internet sat. is all we have). Have to admit I'm already a fan of Flip's El Camino, haven't seen old shows with him, but sure was cool to see it racing. Almost a tear jerker (really, my contacts are bothering me today) to find out the story behind it and see everyone getting it racing again (just hand me the tissue box and quit judging me).

 

Tonight is the end of the season?! WTF it barely started. Are they putting together the next season yet?

Yes, they are getting paid, but it barely covers expenses at this time....think about if you blew your motor up today and HAD to have it running again in a few days, NO MATTER WHAT....

It's going to be good tonight, anyone have an idea if there coming down to Florida for any shows are events. I would like to see them at the No Mercy race in Georgia.

 

From what I have seen over on YB and FB yes some of them get paid some get more then others but all of them have some sort of sponsors. There is a local shop here that did some suspension work on one of the cars and they sent a bunch of t shirts and I see them on the show ever once in a while.

 

cough cough.... MONZA MOTHER FUCKERS!!!... lol I called that weeks ago. lol I knew he was going to make it top, that car is so fast on the 60ft. He's got that car figured out. But keeping Nitrous consistent is going to be a battle in and of itself especially a high powered one. But at least he know's how to tune his shit and not blow it up every run like DRIVER DAVE. lol

 

Dave will be back....not to take anything away from Monza, but the only reason he won both times is that the truck didn't make the passes it's capable of, maybe Dave put too much power in for the road, either way, Daddy Dave vs. Monza was a pedal-fest, and Monza either pedalled better, or had the car dialed into the road better. I wonder what's up with Boosted GT's car? He shoulda WAXED that SBC Fox, instead, she was far enough ahead to cut across his lane on her way to the wheat field and still miss him. Didja notice the look on Dominator's wife face after he lost? I'm betting no nookie for him for a few days....

That's exactly what I was thinking Ken... that doesn't make sense to me. Sure they are the fastest among themselves in their city. Compared to other badasses across the nation not so much. There's been plenty that could and have ran them down. Their king has already been dethroned, in Chicago... why do they not talk about that at all? And yeah what is up with Boosted, his shit use to be crazy fast on the street now it can't even get out of its own way, its Running like Chucks... ohhhh no I hope he didn't give it a bowtie disease as well... lol That's for all my Chevy buddies... lol Yeah this show definitely is over edited and now busted to be completely fake. I like they are trying to do something for the racing community, but they need different players in the game as well. The list is stupid, and its closed so the fastest are not there. I mean who picks those races... oh you got a twin turbo Outlaw/Pro mod... cool go against my NA car that only run's 9's on a great night. I can't believe I never had a chance?... lol How fucking stupid are these races... Finally they had some stuff that was a little closer. I say fuck it run that shit out the 1/4 mile... I understand why they don't but hey like Cali said, you run the 1/4 its a different story on all their cars.. Chuck was like I think by the 1/8th we'll know who the faster cars are? Ummmmm Noooo.. because every one of the close races they had wouldn't have been close had it been the 1/4. That Camaro was gonna run Dave's ass.. and I think that Mustang would have killed Murder Nova, seen a lot of other races with that guy. He's really really fast, he probably could take Dave as well. Monza I think he was due and he has been there to race every single time. He don't break, he don't ever not make it down the street. It might have been a pedal fest, but that's racing. The reason why I think that was all Dave had to was Monza stayed side by side with him and then pulled. I think we are seeing all that Truck has... I think Farmtruck is gonna be a rough one next season. 1500hp in that old truck that thing is gonna move. What do you guys think? I got a good look at the surface they were racing on, and it SUCKED bigtime!!! Looked like concrete with those diamond cut grooves for drainage, so you're only sitting on maybe 60% concrete/40% air. That had to throw a monkey wrench in everybody's chassis tune, as well as motor tune. Gotta wonder who picked that road to run on, bet it wasn't Chief....grooved surface, curbs.....it was probably some show producer, definitely not a racer...
