Ok so i had everything bought and had to get another block. Well the machine shop took off .010 from the deck. So now im either looking at 9.8 or buy thicker head gaskets and go 9.2. Its a s480 turbo iron eagle platinum headed 355 pump gas street build

Cam, and intercooling could make a difference, but with iron heads, and pump.... i'd still go 9.2.

probably something more important is piston to head distance. ideally you'd want .040-.055. .060- .080 is more detonation prone.

On something n/a for sure, but forced induction doesn't seem to as sensitive to quench for detonation control.

It just sucks having to drop another 250 on head gaskets when the .040 ones would have been perfect for the other block

If the heads are new and have never been installed -- maybe you could exchange them for some larger chambered one?

They have about 1000 miles on them.. Im probably gonna run it at 9.8 and if i have issues ill pull the heads and change the gaskets. Im hoping with my intercooler and meth injection it will be ok
