I had to clock my dizzy all weird due to the 4 corner cooling fitting was hitting the advance can. So my vac can is pointing to the passenger back corner and I put #1 @ the 5 o'clock position and ran firing order from there... does that matter? Pretty sure you can put them how you want as long as its in order... maybe im off a tooth on the distributor gear idk. Before I mess with that again im going to fill the bowls again and try starting. Its getting closer tho, not shooting flames out now!

No, locked timing won't change anything, it is wherever you set it initially, the locked timing won't come into play without actually turning the dist to whatever timing you want, then locking it down there. A that point that's your timing, period. So stabbing the dist in while at tdc, with rotor at #1, then bring it counter clockwise a bit and see what it does when you try and fire it. (Vacuum unplugged at the can and plugged at the source) if it tries to start, turn it a bit more, when it fires get the rpm up and get a light on it,. Depending on what your using for timing control you can lock it down like a standard NA sbc, 34-36ish at idle then set up whatever your using to retard timing from there.

Thats what I thought with the timing. Im thinking it's just low on fuel, and I pumped the throttle to see if it was spraying from the nozzles and it definitely is. Mite have flooded it at first and now just needs to turn over to get the pump going. I plan on locking it out around 32.
Also, I have the pumps boost reference coming of the compressor outlet without a check valve. With the motor cranking, it has a vacuum til the turbo would start to spin. Could the pump diaphragm be seeing slight vacuum causing it to act like vapor lock?
Its never taken this long to get fuel up to the carb, ive cranked it ALOT

Filled the bowls 4 times and the fuel line is still dry. Im about 95% positive the pushrod is on the pump so im thinking a clogged fuel filter and/or old gas gumming things up.
It sounds nice and strong when its running even on open downpipe!

Changed filter back by tank and cleaned my post pump filter. The back one was pretty nasty(year old gas). Hopefully thats it... when I get back to it ill try it again and hopefully thats it cuz I hate getting to the mechanical pumps especially with a turbo systen in my way

Well of was the fuel filter! Line is primed and pump is pumping... got a short vid but wont load from my phone but it is finally alive!
Minor coolant leak I have to fix and I can pull her out and clean this cluttered garage. Still needs the bumper back on but that'll be after I trim the impact bar and open the lower air dam... never knew why GM didnt open then stock lol

Thanx guys! So I was having trouble with my mixture. .. or so I thought. Wouldnt rev past 2500 rpm and figured either rich spot or my weighted air door was the issue. Turns out my timing light is a piece of shit and had my timing way out. Just said fuggit and tuned by ear and its running a HELL of alot better now, can rev til limit now and hear turbo spooling a little. Ill buy a new timing gun and get her dialed in soon. Does smell rich still but need a wideband before I can assume anything or drive it under boost. I have the carb tuned rich to be safe but just wanna be careful before careless... ive out a few engines in the boneyard too soon because of shitty tunes

Might not be your light, if your running an MSD box they have a habit of not playing nice with most dial back lights. Will give you the oddest readings. I have an ancient craftsman that works on almost anything, but when it does act wonky I have a fancy bluepoint as well, usually one or the other works lol.
Get a wideband on it so we can see how it runs!
    Congrats again man.

IF it is an MSD box, as stated above, use the cheap timing light. If you try and use the advanced series with the knob on the back, you're shooting yourself in the foot, your timing will be all over the place.

I got that info from the MSD tech line, I thought they were crazy, but nope, they were right.
