Here in California concealed carry is decided by each county. Each county has different interpretation of "good cause". Some will accept self defense as good cause and others reject it. There was a huge decision made with in the last few weeks in the 9th district court case, Peruta vs San Diego. Basically they ruled that self defense is good cause. Where as before, self defense was not a proper reason. Also, since open carry was recently banned, the right to "bear" had been infringed they concluded. There are still appeals and stuff possible, but it was decided 2-1 by what's considered a "liberal court". See here.

Here, in Ga, we can carry in any restaurant that also serves booze, as long as we are not drinking, and the bar derives more than 50% of it's revenue from the food sales.
I wear my Glock 40 cal, model 27 frequently, when out. recently, I wore it to Wally World, to see what they had for ammo...Got some shit from a dude asking why I had it. Told him I wanted to check to see if the ammo would fit. That went totally over his head..:laughhard:

I carry a .40 cal glock 23 all the time. I was actually in GA last week for the supercross race. I opened carried after crossing the GA line since the do not recognize my VA permit. No one questioned me or had anything to say about it.

I will agree that there are people who fall with in that. But that being said I carry with thope of never needing my gun. I dont feel like a hero or that im protecting my self from some kind of take over. I carry a wepon because I live in a rather bad area. People get shot and stabbed rather often around here. Homes get broken into and people get killed for simple things. If That ever happeneds I would like to be armed and ready. I dont believe in this bs zomby apocolips bs I dont think I will ever be a hero I also see no reason to own a AK or a AR. I carry low grain hollow points because if I ever use my weapon I hope it does not travel further then what I intended to shoot. I know people who carry full metal jackets and we always get in the what if argument. I would rather not have a weapon that can shoot through walls and if I need the range of a rifle im pretty sure I can find a way out of the fight before it gets close enough to use a weapon. But I would have to say that some of that is correct and there are people that fill there mind with these ideas to justify there obsessions with useless weapons.

Noam Chomsky is somewhat of a hypocrite in regard to guns considering he has had security protection on many occasions. I believe he over-thinks and over-analyzes gun ownership in this country, and (as he often has) he discusses them with an air of contempt towards gun owners and this country as whole.

The apocalyptic fiction in popular culture is separate from guns and no different than what has happened all over the world throughout history. In the 1970s and very early 1980s when the economy was bad Hollywood produced a lot of similar themes (destruction, taking on the world, vigilantes, lone heroes, zombies, etc). Heck, Revelation in the Bible, one of many themes of horrific end times written which reflected what was happening in the Roman Empire.

I didn't mean for Chomsky's views to be more than a side bar or light addition, although an interesting one. Honestly, I read a lot of what he publishes (not just guns) because he is intelligent and usually looks at all sides and doesn't hide behind patriotism, religion, etc. and offers a reasoned opinion. As a professor, isn't he supposed to think and analyze to an extremely high degree? Personally, I own a gun and don't carry because of Hawaii's crazy CCW laws, but believe in peoples rights to choose. Granted, I've never lost a child to a gun, so I can only offer my opinion based on my experiences, being a veteran and having taken a life before.

It's cool. Was not a criticism of you and I agree he's an intelligent man. A small part of his somewhat Libertarian views I can agree with but sometimes he tends to get a socialist bent (he's anti-property and anti-market) and that's a huge turn off. Though I would rather read his stuff than some of the mindless hype coming from left and right talking heads.

Not taken as such. I'm sure there are very few people we can agree with 100% of the time. Granted, I'm pro-personal property and pro-market; not to the extent of what we see now, but a free trade market non the less. I do agree with his worker-owned views and a few others as far as non-hypocritical imperialism. Sorry, this strayed a bunch off topic.
