Ha.. I did consider fab'n one honestly, but didn't feel confident on the best way to make sure I de-air'd the oil. The baffling is critical to a good dry sump pump system so I decided it would be best to buy one from a well known dirt track race fab shop. I'll try to get a pic of the inside of the tank to show the baffling.

    Thanks,

    Michael

Yeah, you can't really have many learning curves on something like that. If it didn't work, engine would be a boat anchor.

Looks baller man, good to see progress!

Yesterday was a tough day for me. The cobra has a new owner. This was a difficult decision, but the car was bought by a friend I haven't seen in 14 years. He has followed this thread, and after contacting me a few times about buying the car this past year, I decided it was time. He is motivated, and has a few buddies that came with him to pick it up that plan on helping him finish the car. Most importantly, I asked him to keep this thread going. Post the progress with pics. He agreed.

I just have struggled to find the time, money, and motivation this past 1-2 years to finish this build in a timely fashion. Some new, excited blood will now have a chance to finish what I started so this beast can see the road like it deserves.

I am sorry if I disappointed some of you. It was a very hard personal decision, but I am happy it went to a friend, and a fellow racer.

    Thanks,

    Michael

Sounds like you made a really good decision. Somebody who knows the car, knows the quality and time put into it. Don't worry about disappointing folks on a message board, you don't owe us anything!

Hey Michael. Great car and sounds like it is headed to a good new home. No disappointments - as stated your decision and your priorities. No regrets. I do hope the new owner posts up and maybe see that car roll under it's own power this year

Sucks to see it go, but as others said hopefully new owner will update this thread and build the car the way it should be.

Im sad to see this project go, but I understand the lack of motivation. Hopefully the new owner will finish the car so we can see what it can really do.

As for blowing the diff on your viper, thats why I trailer all my cars to the track (when I never go. :\)

Damn, . . . I had forgotten how talented MSM was. I just went back and watched the entire 16 minute video. Wow! . . . some great fab ideas and techniques all created with rather simple hand tools in the garage. You don't need a CNC mill to make a nice sheet metal intake manifold. What he could do with a hole saw and a welder! . . . sure gives me a lot of encouragement. Really a shame to see such talent and brilliance gone from the forum.
