Ok really thinking about going to a mod motor in my 86 Capri, my question is how bad is spool up going to be with my current S480 turbo on a dohc mod motor? It has the 96mm turbine with the 1.32a/r housing....my plans are to buy a Mark VIII engine, cobra crank, cobra cams, and cobra intake, leave the b heads stock with upgraded springs and possibly valves (if needed), along with good h beam rods and forged pistons. Gonna do a diy turbo kit, probably a 2.25 crossover keeping it divided the whole way like my current setup on my windsor. Also it would be made to have high 9:1 low 10:1 compression. Looking for 800+rwhp on high boost for the track and low-mid 600s for street driving all on E85.

I'd be running a LOT more than stock cams with that setup. A 2" crossover would help and at least 10:1. My question is why? I don't see the point of this one.

Why swap? Just was thinking about it. I have always had pushrod engines except for the 98 cobra I had owned...wanted to do something different and don't realy have the dough right now for a new dart based engine and figured for what I could sell all my current parts for I could do a 4v swap plus I have always wanted to do it. I'm sure I could easily sell the s480 if need be......

For a street car, I agree 100%. I'd probably go with a t4 s480 with the 87mm turbine at the most and even the 83mm turbine would meet your goals.

Well if I can find a nice used sportsman a-351 block I am gonna stay pushrod. I just hate to start from scratch since I already have a nice rotating assembly. Sucks the dart blocks don't come in 3" mains....

either route I go my quest is for the 8s, which I have already come close to before the stock windsor block had issues.... I am just not sure how possible it will be with unported b heads and built mod motor? I want it to make 750-800whp through the auto.
