As far's I'm concerned, if it's not a NAME brand like Miller, Lincoln, (examples, there's others) etc, "it ain't." There is literally TONS of this no-name import stuff, and when (not if) it comes time to find parts or repair, you are sitting there going WTF

Hobart is "off-brand", and I've not heard one single person bash them. Miller and Lincoln are getting matched by welders at 1/3 the price.

I wouldn't have posted it if it was a POS.

I know you can't really read this, but right on the front it says "Made in Italy." I won't be buyin' one, nor a Fiat/ "Dodge Dart"

But Hobart is(or was) an Off Brand of Miller wasn't it. I looked this up when I got a Hobart on Black Friday years ago from Northern Tools.

Better than China isn't it ? I saw Jody on Weldingtipsandtricks test one and gave it a thumbs up for a small & cheap machine.

Wow. If it was a piece of shit Charles wouldn't have made this post. Alot of diy guys need a mig that works and it's not made in China so who gives a fuck if its not miller or Lincoln.

My buddy has a Clarke, it's Italian made. Makes me wonder if it's the same company. For tools I go US made then Europe/Japan then China. There are exceptions but in general that seems to be pretty decent. I am going to bet virtually all the components electrically are made in one place regardless of brand and I doubt it's the US. Could always stand to be corrected on that though.

For part timers such as myself the biggest issue tends to be the welder, not the welder if you know what I mean.

I've been using a Gianttech(chinese) combo machine. The tig has worked great for the past 6 months. The plasma worked nice also. Only reason
I needed something else was for AC function to weld aluminum. Went with the Hobart EZ Tig 165i. Just tried it out a few hours ago and it
is awesome. Exact same machine as the Miller Diversion 165 but $200 cheaper.

I bought a small 110 machine used years ago. It was made in Italy. I have had the dang thing 16 years and the only part that broke was a piece in the torch handle. I did have some issues finding parts but I did find the piece and it is still going. I also have a Dan mig that I have had for over 20 years

If they can make a Ferrari a little mig shouldn't be a problem. A lot of my customers are now buying forklifts made in Italy and are nice machines, they had service issues at first but then opened a US service and parts center.

Bought this on Monday on sale at Napa , $949.00 was quite surprised how well it worked. Came with a mail in card for the free tig torch that my store sent in for me and it came Tuesday UPS.
    220 v 180 amp ..
I haven't picked up any argon or argon / helium mix yet to try the tig but for the money I think it was a hell of a deal because they are regular $1800.00 ish I believe .
