I haven't posted on here in a while, so I thought I'd give an update. I've been sneaking up on the tune with my combo... for those of you that don't know it's...

    Non-magnum 360"
Cast crank, stock rods (with bolts), stock block (filled), 9.2:1 (Probe off the shelf forged pistons), bowl ported iron heads, 224/[email protected]" cam (.500" lift), stock magnum manifolds flipped around, 2.5" crossover, S475 turbo, single 4" exhaust to the bumper, blow through E85. Car is 3700lbs with me in it. Push button 727 with a PTC 9.5" converter.

Last weekend I got the wick turned up pretty good. 20psi, 17 deg timing, 10.8~11.0 A/F.

I can't get it to hook at ALL! (1.61 60ft), but it's really starting to fly now!

    10.08@136mph.

    God I love boost.

Unfortunately I accidentally bumped the trans brake on the next pass, which accidentally started the boost ramp in the MSD controller. So it left the line at 20psi and sheared the pinion right off of the 8 3/4"... lol Whoops.

I'll get it back together and out again, but I'm hoping it'll be in the 9's by the end of the year.

Exactly my thought. Or was there wheel hop involved?

Oh no wheel hop. Annihilated it right at the trans brake release. Car didn't move 4 inches.

Looks like a clean break also. No discoloration anywhere that would look like there was an older "start" to the fail.

    good work...

Thanks guys.... it is definitely a fan favorite when I take it to the track.

Yeah trans is coming out for sure to check the rear sprag. It's already broke one once about the 3rd time out when it started leaving hard (even with the low band apply). Last time it was the stock one, hopefully the Coan super sprag held up better.

Broke a 3.23, going back to the 2.76.

Cam is a custom regrind on a stock core ($125) from cam motion, but if I had to do it over again I wouldn't grind it to these specs. Just didn't know enough when I put it together the first time. It could definitely use some more duration on both ends, and no need for the reverse split on a 96mm/1.32AR.

Congrats on the numbers! That car must hurt a lot of feelings. Too bad about the breakage but you've got to expect stuff like that at your level of power and weight. Might be time for a Dana. You're going toe to toe with Sir Isaac Newton now. F=ma.

So 17 degrees of timing? Can you elaborate specifically how you measure and control your ign advance?

I've got something similar to your engine in use but a BB Mopar and my problem is the engine knocks very easily after 12-13 psi and my base comp is 8.7:1. Fuel is ok across the board according to AFR gauge. Guess I have too much advance eventhough I electronically retard the overall timing when boost starts to raise. If I retard it too much it starts hesitating. Haven't yet found the reason what would help exactly in the existing combo. I guess water injection might be the ticket but if I can avoid that and just tune the existing setup that would be better.

    Any ideas?
