The car ran back in 2011. They are enjoying it since then I'm sure. Nigel has always did that with his builds. Say it runs and disappears.

SPOTTED! One suspiciously normal-looking purple Challenger in a hidden parking lot in the industrial park. I could feel it idling. :) We want updates!!!

Busted! You caught me working on the E85 tune. This project has been in mothballs for a couple years but I am dusting it off now. I will post updates in a new thread in the Mopar section as soon as I have something worthwhile to report.

I have made a number of changes to the car, resulting in a significant net loss in rear wheel horsepower.

I have reduced the engine displacement by 72 cubic inches. I have reduced the compression ratio by .7 points. I have reduced the camshaft intake duration by 6 degrees. I have switched to a transmission with lower efficiency (due to higher internal rotating mass) which has increased drivetrain loss by 2%. Previously I already had pretty high drivetrain losses in the neighborhood of 18% due to GV overdrive plus ford 9-inch 2.91 ring/pinion, but now with the new transmission the drivetrain losses are about 20%. This I have verified with before/after dyno numbers both flywheel (from engine dyno) and rear wheel (from chassis dyno). When all is said and done I predict a total net loss of about -150 rwhp.

As a result of these changes (plus having switched to E85 fuel) I have had to re-map my entire tune which takes quite a bit of time on the chassis dyno. I have only been able to complete about 75% of the re-tuning due to my dyno operator having too busy of schedule this season. I have a street tune on the car now and I have been enjoying driving it around and going on highway trips and such as I usually do, but I cannot go to the racetrack until I get the remaining 25% of the tuning done because that 25% is my higher boost tune which I need at the track.

I do not feel like revealing any more details or specifics regarding these changes and their results until I have ALL the results, including track performance. So i am stuck waiting on my dyno operator, but that does not keep me from driving and enjoying the car it just keeps me from taking it to the racetrack, but that does not bother me so much since this car has always been 99.9% street and 0.1% track.

If and when I ever get the darn dyno tuning done and get this car down the racetrack I will post complete updates, including my reasons for making all the changes.
