My buddy just refreshed my memory. Stock length drive shaft with the yoke cut down a bit. Not sure on the transmission lengths but from my stock 4 cylinder k member to the AJE the trans sit in almost the same exact spot.

10 second grocery getter. The new turbo pulls freakin hard but the new drag radials hook much better so it's hard to tell what's going on. I will have to get it to the track to find out for sure.

I put some 275/60/15 street tires on this thing and they are totally useless. I was on the highway at 65-70mph and rolled into it to pass a buddy and it blew the tires off. I will be putting it back on regular fuel and turning it down to 9psi for street duty. Going to drive it every chance I get.

I don't know how those true radial class guys do it out here! They pull off some pretty amazing 60' times and manage to get 900+ to the ground on a true radial. Alot of talk about running silly low timing to cut the power back and then ramping boost and timing back it slowly. Aren't those L33's pretty high compression? Have you ran 9lbs on pump gas before?

They are 10:1. I ran it at 9lbs on pump for the first few months that I had the car out and ran it at the track with that setup to 133mph. I have a tune for it already so it's just a click away. I'm only running a degree or so more timing right now with the E85, I'm sure once I get it to the track on the E85 I will have much more timing in it. I just put some Cooper Cobra's on it because they were cheap. I'm sure a better tire would help but I want to drive the thing everyday and I don't want to chew up my drag radials.

Re: 5.0 ford to 5.3 ls swap. Can I break even? First start vid with the Holley.

    Congrats chiaj....

I went with the dart shp block - but was on the fenc for a long time with the LS engine family - it is just so easy to go fast with them...

What kept me ford is that I want to be able to compete in nmra true street -

Thanks. So I've been driving this thing a lot lately. I'm running 8lbs of boost right now and it has perfect street manners. I can rug it from a dig and it will only start spinning a bit when the boost comes in. Once I jam second it's gone. It's much easier to control than the 14lb E85 tune that I had in it and I'm pretty sure the car is faster on the street from light to light now with traction. It will stay like this except for track days when the E85 tune will go back in with 20lbs of boost or so.

Drove the car to work tonight and with my rough calculations I'm getting about 25mpg on the highway with about 1/3 of the tank being E85 still so it will get better once it's strickly 91 and I still have some room to lean it out. Once I get home I will go over my datalog to get the actual mileage. This is based on an imperial gallon.

So my brand new Flaming River manual rack is done. It started with the odd clunk in the steering and my wheel jumped about 90 degrees from where it should have been. Now the car won't steer at all it's jumping the gears in the rack. I called them they want me to send it back to them to have a look at it. I hope they will fix it even though I ordered another one. I am going to put the stock cam back in it to see if it clears up my valve train noise and I might even throw the truck intake back on it too if my throttle cable is long enough. If I can get the rack replaced I might take it to the track with some E85 in it on Sunday.

Why would you go back to the truck intake?

Everything that I have read they flow better than the LS1 intake. The only reason I put it on was to go back to a stock hood but I'm not going that route anymore. I am thinking about a 4l80e without a brake and I think the stock cam intake will help get it out of the hole better.
I'm building another notch for my son. He is going to use the ls1 intake so he can keep the stock hood.

Most of the mag articles I've read put the truck manifold about 10hp/10ftlb higher than the LS1 (NA flywheel hp). The LS6 is about the same as the truck but shines a tad more in the upper rpm's. If I had the room I'd go with a truck intake all the way.

When's the the 20lb track visit coming? ;)

I was planning to go this weekend but it looks like that won't happen. My truck caught fire when the wife was coming home from work today. It's not a write off but I have no idea when I will get it back. Something behind the back seat went up. I didn't think there was anything back there.

I just moved and don't have internet at home yet. The only access I have is from work and I don't have the global folder here. I should be set up on Tuesday and I will send it to you. Do you want the E85 or pump gas tune?
