Recommended spark plugs are Champion RC12YC or equivalent 14mm x 3/4" reach with flat gasket seat.

    Directly from Edelbrock...

Not sure the difference between the 12 and 14... couldnt find anything on the actual lengths of the threads. However when I am indexing plugs, I usually like to have the threads very close to being flush with the combustion chamber. with the electrode, pointing inwards. That looks like the electrode is shrouded in that picture...

You do only have one gasket on the plug right?

Other than that I would give Edelbrock a call on the tech line...

I would be afraid of some detonation around those extra threads that are all sharp. At the very least I would smooth what is not being used by the plug. Definaltey a valid cause for concern.

that would be preignition stupid head :tongue9:. Det can occur from preignition but in the case of a hotspot its preignition

I never claimed to be an expert. But I had the general idea, ass hat. I'm teachable, lol.

My first thoughts was also a longer plug but then part of the plug thread will be exposed in the chamber.

One issue haha, Edelbrock only have phone tech line and no mail. I'm not sure my english is good enough to describe the problemo without a picture.

Thanks Mate, I ordered them from Summit 03/04/13

Here is another pic, it shows why a longer plug is NOT the sollution.

I would get your die grinder out and do a little work on the CC around the plugs. That last pic, with a second gasket would be perfect and would index the plug correctly. Then just massage the sunken side back to the far side.

At first i though that maybe Eddy had re design the head for a angled spark plug? went and look at my 340 X heads. as far as spark plug angle they are the same but my X heads have a bump on one side so the thread come out flush. My spark plug doesn't set in the hole like that either.

I have done some grinding in the chamber, at least there is no threads left.

The Eddy heads seems to be working, set a new PB to 10,78 @130.5 (last years best was 11,14 @127)

Thanks, the 60' is only 1,75. I bought a better converter yesterday, a Hughes 24-35HD. It will hopfully improve some. But I'm pretty satisfied with runing 10s. The gool now is to put a front wheel in the air, just a little.........
