Take a little time off, then get back to it. Everyone gets frustrated sometimes. Besides, if everything worked out perfect the first time, good results would not be as satisfying.

What mustang-junky said. Just let it sit for a few weeks, then you will actually want to find the problem. I hate having to tear things back apart.

Ill do that :) Does anyone know what parts can typically be re-used if the heads lift?

Mustang junky has hit the nail on the head- take a little break and get back to it :). No saying what can be re-used until you tear into it and inspect things. It is entirely possible that you burned a head gasket from lifting and blowing past, but it's not enough to leak at normal cruise pressures. Be sure to inspect the gaskets thoroughly, even look between layers. As mentioned, check the intake gaskets as well. Was the intake properly torqued to spec or just tightened down? Ford intakes are pretty finicky compared to say a small block chevy when tightening down. I'm willing to bet you'll find the issue in the head gasket area though. Guarantee that if you had a standard composite head gasket in there, you'd have a mosquito fogger right now :D.

If that was the first use on the head studs you'd prolly be good to use them again

Ur running 21psi on twin gt45s and only running 11s? Time for a driver mod and tire upgrade. If u dont have studs get them. Did u use any sealant on the heads?

What are you talking about? I never said I run 11s? especially on 21lbs rofl it does that on 6psi ;) 21lbs is just a bit faster. My car needs to driver mode (whatever that means) lol and tires are 10.5 slicks I have zero traction issues. Get with it man lol

LOL ...... There is something happening in this thread.

Ditch the cheap head studs and get some ARP studs. Don't bother reusing the head gaskets either and make sure and RTV the intake well.

The more items you reuse the more itemes you have to question. Take as many equations out of the factor as possible.

Sounds like you are getting close to the limits of that Windsor setup as it is. Not sure what type of power you are making but it should be near the limits of that block.

Depends on fund, what you have there is nothing wrong with it at all and it should keep you happy for a while. I would get it running right, enjoy it and then go from there. I have gotten burned out working on crap all the time and wish I had kept my old setup as it would have been far cheaper and I would have it perfected by now also. Just my opinion and my experiences, constant working and spending with no playing and enjoyment = discouragement and anger. LOL

1/2" studs need more than 80lb/ft. Try retorquing before pulling everything apart, the gaskets may not be hurt yet, and if it is because of low torque you won't find anything wrong when you tear it down.

I think you are damn right...to much spending not enough having fun will leave you pissed and angry lol

OK, new plan...buy ARP studs, new gasket, correct torque specs and boost controller to lower that boost to maybe 10-12lbs instead of that crazy 21 lol

Then I can build a Dart while Im cruising and not get all burnt out. Thanks guys your all very helpful :)
