I had 7" straight down pipe on my car, and I still got a muffler on it after the turbine. It doesn't do shit, but I can say it has a muffler.

I love how even though none of you have tried this, you're such experts that you are positive that it won't work or that it will run like shit and be laggy with no spool. You don't even know his entire combo. Only two variables of it. Turbo and engine size.

    Experts! LMAO!

So some combos run better with pre turbine mufflers?

Sure. All you have to do is apply for & be granted an exemption from the laws of physics.

In another post he has the turbos being used mentioned. The turbines are about the size as q trims, just a tad bigger. I had a friend build a remote mount 350z with a t4, p trim, .81A/R, 66mm garrett. He ran the factory exhaust all the way back and KEPT the cat(s) and it spooled fine. If I remember correctly it was puttin out 10psi at about 4000rpm with a 7000 redline. I don't think it will be as bad as everyone thinks. It will prolly be a little laggy but that might help with a 520" ford. I'm pretty sure 12psi at 3000rpm will equal tire smoke with that motor no matter what its in. Unless it is a boat...

Alright, those are absolutely tiny for t6 turbos so it will work OK but spool will still take a bit. However, putting mufflers pre-turbo is still a terrible idea. Pre-turbine heat is sooo high it could break down the muffler and send something through the turbo, not to mention the fact that it will be sucking up heat needed to get them spooling.

    I've ran a cat before a turbo, wasn't a big deal.

    meow? ^. .^

But anyway... catalysts and mufflers are relevant only in that they are both things that exhaust gases flow through. A muffler, if it's actually effective enough for you to ever tell if it's there (which is the whole point here since the OP's said it needs to be less noisy) will, by definition, have to absorb energy from the exhaust that should get put to good use spinning the damn compressor wheels. Over the years catalysts have been refined and tweaked to be ever less restrictive, since a restrictive catalyst doesn't catalyze better. Mufflers are still pretty much what they've always been, because of what they have to do in order to work.

And even if you ignore the effects on the turbo, a muffler before the turbo will not knock the noise down nearly as much as the exact same muffler mounted after the turbo. To get the same level of noise reduction, the pre-turbo muffler would have to be larger and more restrictive, which should make it even more clear what a bad idea this is.

Something i've noticed about my remote setup, is that it is exceptionally laggy when the piping and headers are cold, but not nearly as bad when everything is hot as hell. Bolting some mufflers on before the turbo would just add more mass to heat up.

This is a bad idea. cats and mufflers are not even close to the same thing, and cats pre turbo is a horse shit idea too. Emissions save the world bullshit.

Fk yeah! 'Pollution' is just another name for plant food! Shit, when I was a kid we used to have contests to see who could drink the most mercury out of old thermometers, never hurt us one bit.
