Hellion turbo back pressure

    Even if they are built at the same plant which is doubtful, his come with a whopping 30 day warranty, and have a trend of leaking on first start up. Funnier is when people get pissed he doesn't want to replace the turbo out of warranty. They think because they just started the car their 30 day warranty should be extended lol.

    Sorry to be off topic but dont the on3 5.0 kit wastegate pipes look really close to the engine bay paint?

    Yeah, I bought a turbo kit from someone used and it came with an on3 turbo - the guy had a 76 ball bearing turbo from turbonetics, but sold it off so as to try to get more money. Anyway, my turbo smokes just the slightest amount (can't see any smoke, but you smell something after getting into boost really hard for a while). I say really hard... I'm only running 4 1/2 lbs. Anyway, I'm hoping it doesn't take a crapper and break my engine. Also hoping it holds up to more power later.

    We have ran our turbochargers on anything from a daily driver to just the weekend cruiser. When setup properly they are very reliable and make exceptional power. The On 3 Performance 2002 GT on our website has our 70mm unit and has been daily driven, put through quite a few passes at the track, 20,000+ miles to this point and still in perfect operating condition.





    Please do not email and ask if this turbo will work on your application. All specs of the turbo are posted above and would recommend to be used on at least 3.0l+ applications. We cannot answer and know every kit out there and if its going to be an identical bolt in upgrade. Generally it will be a simple upgrade in most cases but could involve you cutting/welding



    WE DO NOT HAVE COMPRESSOR MAPS!!!!

    Aside from just scrapping the hellion single turbo kit, is there anything that you guys mite see that would alleviate some of this hot side back pressure? I ask because i am currently rebuilding my coyote and have had a hellion single turbo kit for almost a year and financially it doesnt make sense to me to just scrap this kit with the money that has already been invested.

    To alleviate Pressure on mine, we just dumped the WG to the open air. Works good. Noisy under boost but it does help

    Guy I talked to how did that, it helped, but still nosed over early he said, and inlets were still up there.

    the turbine wheel that is the choke point.

    You need a larger wheel, not a larger AR.

    turbine wheel is the biggest back pressure cause. Hi flow turbine wheels are amazing at getting rid of BP

    dumping the waste gate to open air, is not the correct way to fix your problem.
    you need a larger exhaust wheel...

    As of now I'm not worried about the back pressure. this is the way mine was setup. Mine is the 76 billet, I think the other kits are having issues because they have 67mm turbos.

    this kit has been 10.53@131 on 93 oct@10 psi. With dumped to the atmosphere. And 10.59 with the wastegate dumping into the exhaust @12psi
    Tell me if I'm wrong but that seems to work well.

    now you guys can teach me because I'm new to the modular coyote cars. I'm used to throwing nitrous to a 351w and going this fast but the car weighs a lot less with less creature comforts. Lol

    I'd get it dynoed, that will tell you. Probably nosing over. The kit I tested was a 76mm also. But the twin we did for another company, same car (the actual exact car we took the single off), same tuner, dyno and boost level made 200rwhp more than that single w a 76mm. Inlets climbed half as much at pretty close to the same boost level....but made some 400+ more rwhp after correction.

    Only negative I have is my caris one of the 11's that will not log; st fuel, AFR or lamb, so we are kinda lost. I was really excited about getting a 11 and having Lund tune the turbo... But we all know that will not happen with a Hellion kit.

    What size exhaust wheel do you recommend?

    Won't log even w the new data link software? Lund has tuned the hellion kit. One of the guys I've talked about had 3-1 back pressure w another tune. Lund was down to 2-1. Hard to say how much is the turbine size. JPC made 1200rwhp w the same turbo. No graph shown so no idea if it nosed over or not though.

    SCT stuff will not read some of the mustangs. It's a random thing...I just got lucky I guess. No fix as of yet and sCT seems to have other things they care about more than fixing product they already sold.

    Is there something new from another tuner?

    Diablo sport just released some software a few weeks ago. No reviews though, and finding a tuner might be a challenge.
