Hindsight is 20/20. Hindsight now says if someone tries to take over an airplane if we don't do something we're dead, so its very easy to say I'd (or anyone else) would kick butt and it wouldn't have happened with us there. But prior to 9/11 when someone hijacked a plane it didn't end up that way, the plane would be flown somewhere, landed, negotiations would take place and people would walk out alive. At the time of the 9/11 hijacking that was the 20/20 experience people had. As mentioned in the post above, flight 93 only had people fight back after they learned the situation was different that time around and it wasn't going to be about a diverted flight landed elsewhere.
