Yeah, I am done with the Dual Sync Distributor game. I have ordered a 36:1 Wheel and going with a Crank Trigger. I ordered a New Lean Burn Distributor that has a VR Sensor in it. It comes locked out with no VAC Advance. I will be grinding off 7 of the 8 teeth on it's wheel so I can use it for a stand alone cam signal. The wheel will come off and I will tap it for 2 set screws so I can Phase the Rotor in correctly and accurate and make the Home Signal at least 30* away from the #1 Tooth Angle on the crank.

See here for what I am kinda going to do....... Different Distributor but same concept!

I was originally planning on modifying the reluctor on my MSD Billet distributor for the same thing and locking it out when I went EFI myself. Of course, now that I'm getting a Viper V10 engine that is already EFI to put in my van... well that's old news, lol. I look forward to seeing you getting this all worked out! :)

Awesome project !! there some thing i noticed when i was looking at your fuel rail and regulator set up i had mine plumbed like yours and had fuel distribution problems with the injector farthest away from the reg going lean ,had to feed both injectors rails from one end and regulate the return to solve the problem and i didnt find out what was wrong till i burned a piston , just wanted to give u the heads up this is the third time ive seen this problem idont know if it will happen to yours or not but easyer to change a couple of fittings than to find out the hard way Thanks rob!!

Well first that I have heard of that problem. What Fuel Pump did you have the issue with? Also were the guys that had the problems running Batch Fire or Full Sequential?

I am using 3-GSL 392 Walbro Pumps on mine. They are supposed to be good for 1400 HP at 60+ PSI. On the Dyno we used -10 Feed and -6 return.

My set has 2 aeromotive a1000 with a batch fire set up from sdsefi witch had more that enough volume to fed this combo ,by the way it a 493ci single 106mm turbo with 10lb boost made 780rwhp @ 6100 & 800lbft @3600 rpm in a 72 dart has ran 9.20s

Do you think the problem had anything to do with firing the injectors in Batch?

Can you post any pictures of your fuel rails & the plumbing? Do you have any video of the car doing its thang??

Those are some really good numbers. 800ft lbs at 3600 RPM ...... Damn!

YA i kind of wondered if that may have been the problem too with it being batch fire but when we switched it problem went away , ill see if i can get some pics and this thing makes torque like a diesel but the transmission doesnot like it ineed to invest in some serious 727 parts!!

Well, I have been doing some studying on what you are saying and there are alot of guys that have burnt up pistons exactly how you are saying.
So I am going to change everything around and feed the front of the fuel rails first using a -10 to -8an Y. Then 2 -8 Fuel lines will go to the front of the Rails. The regulator will stay where it is and the back of the drivers side Rail will be plumed into the regulator just like it is now accept with -8 Fuel line, the feed input on the Regulator will be capped off and not used, the return will be used as standard............. Its going to cost me $200.00 with all the fittings but it is a hell of alot cheaper than smokin a piston from a lean condition.

Thanks for sharing your information with me, it is very appreciated!

Ya i hate to see someone make the same mistake i all ready have, better to fix it now than find out the hard way . by the way how do yo make pics stick on this site ive got tons to show you ,i think ive convinced my self to covert the dart to methanol for the simple cost of fuel and its octane level and its amazing cooling effect!!!

post up to some place like photobucket then just insert it as an image in the thread as you type a post. :) [ img ]http://picture.url[ / img ] like that (no spaces in there though) Photobucket even has quick copy links from pictures you post there to paste into a message board with the tags already on it :) Good luck!

Bought all the Black AN Fitting to make the changes to the fuel supply lines. Cost me $152.00.
I also ordered some D585 Coils and the wiring harnesses. I'm going to remote mount them hidden somewhere out of sight.

The fuel line upgrade is done. It is all -8 now. -10 From the tank to a 10an Filter under the intake to a 10an -Y- to -8 line that goes to each side of the front fuel rails. The fuel will hit the Injectors first and the regulator last instead of the opposite way I had it.

My Home Brewed Dizzy for the Cam Signal is set and ready to go along with the Crank Trigger.

You can see that I still need to attach the D585 Coils somehow to the valve covers. I have a few good Ideas. After these are mounted I will jump back on the wiring then it should be ready to hit the Dyno Again!!

Just been busy with other stuff. I finished up the 9" Swap and just about welded off the cage. Just finished an EGR Delete and Oil Cooler for my 2005 6.0 Diesel Excursion. It is super clean like new with only 68K miles on it. When I took the EGR Cooler off I just tig welded both ends closed using a couple Freeze Plugs. On the exhaust side I welded over the Freeze Plug Solid so it will take the heat of the exhaust. Kids are headed back off to college in a few weeks so been hanging around. Moved my office the last couple weeks. Thats about it.
