This is the kind of project I would do if I didn't have the hassle of CA's visual portion of the smog check. I like small displacement engines and a lightweight little Swift/Metro with about 200hp would be nuts....and a sleeper. :D

dwrlhc I bought another samurai and put a freshened up stock motor in it.It runs ok now with the stock carb but I was thinking of switching to the MY-Side HD carb setup and blowing thru it. I already have a nice sized t25 for it my garage. I was just thinking a log mani and non intercooled blow thru would be real cheap. 6-7psi max.

Have you heard of anyone blowin thru these harley carbs?

What FPR are you using? I've heard CV carbs are picky on fuel pressure.

Don't wanna jack the thread but your a samurai buff and you and I are from the state where "MY-SIDE" orginated. Have you heard much about these conversions? I'd heard from one individual that it causes un even fuel distribution causing lean cylinders. I figure turboing a setup like that would further exacerbate such issues. Just wondering what your thoughts are. I'm talking about a 100hp max setup.

Edit: I just remembered another question I had for you. Does the head your using have a round exh port? I know the g13a/b in the samurai is square. Just wondering if you did any port matching from square to round.

no prob! the my side is a-ok..i built my own for a 1.6 8v tracker I had..distribution was no worse than the down draft..it will NOT be a problem. myron is a good guy. ive wheeled with him and zuks of az club when I lived in phx. a wideband, and youll get it dialed. exh ports on 8v heads are square..
the transition into round tube isnt critical and may even prevent reversion..but the cams are so mild to begin with..dont overthink it;)

Cool Thanks. How hard was the DIY conversion you made? Any pics? And yeah myron is a stand up dude. I've dealt with him in the past and he has excellent customer service. Actually drove out to my house one time to help. And yes I still have a wideband from my turbo rustang days :2thumbs:

Hmmmm...not sure if you can blow through a harley carb and if it will run right. You can always stick the carb on the suck side of the turbo and run it that way. Lots of guys are still doing that who are non intercooled.

No draw thru carbs for me. Why don't you think you could blow thru a harley carb? Its just a keihin cv carb.

Looks like fun, I have been looking around for a micro car to build, want to do a turbo busa engine transplant, but this looks fun too, I have a friend with a transplanted Festiva that runs 12's, turns smiles into frowns at almost every street corner.

Its definately fun..this combo should be good for 275whp on a race fuel tune...next combo for the car will be a gsxr1100w mounted north south with a dwarf car flange into a subaru diff to retain a fwd configuration...quick change cluch...sequential gearbox...removable cylinder block..lots of boost potential..huge aftermarket..and light weight..this car is slowly morphing into a M3 killer track toy..225 hoosiers and 240zg flares are next..

All you need are tick marks that go beyond the gauge's actual scale like this one:

Apparently 2.0 bar boost gauges weren't common when that Group B rally car was put together.

so the motor is a 1.3 8v block, and crank with gti rods, 16v vitara pistons, and a 1.6 16v head? just making sure i got it cause thats sounds like an awesome setup. i have a boosted 1.3 8v in my sami thats boosted on 7.5lbs and made 90hp on the dyno at the wheels. this sounds like the way to go if i ever blow it up the 1.6l's just dont seem to like the rpm like the 1.3's
    nice build btw
