I've got a fox body 388ci with a PT98 turbo with a 1.00 AR. Currently I'm running 5" pipe off the turbo that's been modded so the car will turn right so it flows probably like a 4" pipe. It then goes from the 5" to dual 3.5" at the bell housing and goes into Nascar boom tubes that exit out the sides in front of rear tires. While this sounds great it's kinda loud and gets a lot of unwanted attention. Looking for a way to make it quieter to drive on the street more and for more maneuverability. I made 1100rwhp with this setup but i'm willing to sacrifice some ponies to make it more street able. Any suggestions??

I was thinking 5" into the 3.5" right off the turbo then split into two 3" pipes and run out back into two mufflers. Maybe electronic cutouts for the track.

Thanks! I was thinking the Magnaflow performance series that are a straight thru design. I've been looking but I can't find any sound clips on a turbo car to give me an idea. If anyone has a clip send me a link.

Are you going from 5" into 3.5's, or 5" down to 3.5", and then into 3.5's?

Currently it's 5" into a custom Y pipe that goes into dual 3.5". Honestly i'm not opposed to running dual 3.5" on out the back through some magna flows if there is room. Not sure if 3.5's will clear over the 9inch. That's why I was considering stepping down to dual 3".

dump dual magnaflows right infront of the rear, it should be plenty quiet with the turbo.. just my .02 cents

I don't think I have room to go under the 9". Maybe not over either. Didn't take into account the mini tub and coil overs..

I will have to measure and see if I can add a 3.5" muffler to my existing nascar boom tubes. Cause I do like my side exhaust.

Yellowpony, yours is kind what i'm after. More stealthy to where I don't get the attention of every cop around town.

Doesn't sound all that loud in the video. Is it a little more annoying/obvious in person? I think I'd loose the chute though for the stealth/blend in with the crowd mode, it might be a give away ;) Lorne

lol yea i know. I've got the one from wolfe race craft that has a pin to remove the chute kinda like a hitch. They get on me at Bristol if I don't have it on there. Never even used it.

The car is louder in person but it does sound good. I think a lot of it has to do with the side exhaust. Usually my left ear is ringing after riding it any distance with the windows down. Would be nice to keep that sound but just tone it down decibel wise.

yea I ran 325's but the car has a 3.50 gear and it was wanting to turning 7500 when I was at 800rwhp. The 315's that are on it now last a lot longer and are 2 inches taller so it helped keep the rpms on the big end under 8k. But yea they do stand out..

My vote if quiet is your goal is stock catback and use boost activated cutouts.
