Cool, appreciate the help. I will save those once I get home and add them to my turbo build files. I know I should go with the S400, but right now this is a budget build and I would be saving $400 on the turbo that I could use for the injectors, a good waste gate or BOV.

What size wastegate do you guys recommend using with these ebay gt45s?

I should chime in here to say that with twins on my 406, a pair of 35mm gates isn't enough...unless you intend to run a minimum of 22psi. The same setup with my 305, however had plenty of wastegate since the motor barley made enough exhaust to even make the things work.

What's the price for this budget combo. I'd need twin 60s and a 50 though.

Well, I did a coil over conversion on the front and a whole different 4 Link in the rear with a Ford 9" instead of the Mopar 8 3/4. The cage is all in, snout bars etc 12PT. I am welding everything off now to include the 9", All brackets and gussets, front end & Cage. After that I need to cut the dash for the A Pillar Tubes and then it goes to paint. I am getting close but no cigar just yet. I got the trans, need a converter. Full Reverse manual valve body with a Pro-Brake. I swapped the ignition to a crank trigger and made my own cam signal out of a lean burn dizzy. Running 8 D-585 Coils now full sequential. Alot to do not enough time. 325/50/15 ET Streets.

So what is the general consensus of these now a days, sorry started to read the this thread ( posts started in 2007) and sorry didnt read all the way thru.

Are these worth it for a diy , first timer build or stay with something like themp 70 for justa little more?

    thnx

Does anyone know of a sure place to get the rebuild kit for this turbo? I ordered on off eBay and the journal bearing and all other components are too small.

Looks llike they weigh 36-38 lbs. Would definetely think these would need to be braced somehow.

How would the spooling be on a stockish 302 with one of these ? just gonna be a street beater so want it to come on pretty early.

    thnx

My original junkyard swirl port headed 350 spooled it fine. I would believe a 302 would be a pretty good match for it. If you read back I think around page 6 a guy had a 302 and was pushing it like 15lbs.

Sorry for the off-topic, but how did those swirlport heads do? Did the boost help the output up past 4000rpm or did it still die off there?

The funny thing about boost is it can take nothing and make it into something. My truck ran real good for what it was. I never dynoed that setup but it was defiantly making power that it wasn't before boost. All my building is done through deals on parts and swap meets. I scored a better set of heads is the only reason I got rid of them.
