Wow look at that floor! Did you get any paint on the car? :D

Did you spray roof yet? Keep up the good work.

I can give you a tip.
put the air hose over your shoulder and have it run down your arm, this will make it FAR easier to keep away from the panels when you are leaning over them.

I personally love the build, I like anything that makes power, but what I like most about this build is its the father/son part of it. Its going to be a great memory for your son when he gets older and has his own family.

You HAVE see Fast and Furious 3 haven't you? This movie pissed off a bunch of domestic and import owners years ago. I even chuckled a little when I first saw on the big screen but I do appreciate the build. It isn't the 2JZ but it is a high HP turboed Japanese inline 6.

This is an awesome project in that it is a father-son team effort. When I got into hot rodding as a teenager I got a lot of flack from the old man about wasting time and money. It hurt our relationship but eventually we got over it.

To the OP think back to when you were 18 and learning to drive - bolt the wastegates open and give your son 6 months to get use to how the car drives. BTW your engine shot already looks better than the one I posted.

Is that the actual engine bay of the car in the movie? One thing I see that we did differently is the MII setup, so you get rid of the shock towers, and allow you to clean things up.

They built a few, hotrod had a story about it. One really did have the ricer swap, but the ones that did the drifting had built windsors.
To the op, I don't really dig the motor swap, but the quality of the build makes up for it. Nice work.

    Awesome car.

The 2jz is the LS1 of the import world...So it'll probably work just as well in a Ford product. ;)

Love the build sir! Oddball swaps are what I do as well. Who wants to do something that's been done 100 times before? That's why I built a XS650 changed it to fuel injection and turbocharged it!

On another more important note: My time with my father in the garage when I was younger working on our separate projects is something I cherish most in my life. Regardless of how the project turns out in the end, you guys will always have had this time together and nothing can replace that. Kudos to you man for taking the lead in something like that.

Thanks Guys! Yes, that Aussie Orange 65 with the Turbo 4.0 ford is very cool.

Here is a little update on paiting the wheels to match the top color.

The aussie 65 is run on Propane.

which makes it harder to get fuel to it and keep it there with higher hp's.

Finally got the paint work done, doing a wet sand and buff job on it now, removing some runs, etc.

Here is the lastest progress... notice how nice the paint turned out at the end in the closeup pics.
