starting to track down parts for a new build and im torn on turbo selection. Gunna be a 6.0l iron block, stroked to 408, all forged internals, dished pistons to give me around 9:0 compression. 317 heads, 100lb injectors, hi ram intake etc etc etc. I want to make around 800-900rwhp on pump gas. I do not go to the track often but id like to be running in the low 10's high 9's when I do. Now I am torn between using TWIN master power p trim 70's with an .81 A/R, or running a larger single, thinking a s488 with a 1.10 A/R or possibly a turbonetic t88. Whats all yalls thoughts on those choices?

Do you have E85 where you're located? Thats a lot of horsepower on pump gas if you ask me . . .

I had a 408 that I ran twins on and it was a riot. I ran higher compression 11.5:1 and E85 with a pair of billet 56mm turbos which are actually very similar in performance to the MP70mm turbos so the results would be similar. I was able to trap 144mph in a 4020lb car with a horrible 60ft with this setup and the turbo hotside was super easy to do. A single 80 would be awesome as well and would hit like a ton of bricks so long as you're not going for 1k rwhp.....

Not really, there is only 2 stations in my town that have e85 and they are both about 15 miles from my house so id rather not go that rout. I figure with a descent fmic and maybe some meth injection i should be able to run enough boost on premium to push over 800whp, not a huge deal if its a little under though lol. Just so torn on which turbo setup to go with, twins or a larger single.

For a single forget about the 1.10 housing or any of the smaller wheels, 96mm 1.32 works fine even on smaller engines.

Oh nice man, good to know. What made you go straight to the 88 instead of the 80? Is the hp-88 the 1.36a/r t6? what kind of power/times you looking for?

hi mate no the hp 88 has the same 1.32 ar t6 that i,m already using so lag should be virtually the same !!!! thought why not just step it up to the 88 try to make the same power with less boost less heat hoping to make it into the 900s at the wheels and lower 9s on c16 fuel!!!! my car is a sometimes daily driven street car!!!! irs rear etc not launching too hard high 1.5 60 fts!!!! cheers

cool cool, Im thinking of going with the gt88 from forced inductions, 1.23ar t6 with a 94mm compressor wheel for $1250.

I'm building a similer setup and went with a S91 on my 408. It's been a 3 year build and still isn't ready.

I can relate - getting close to 3 years since I picked up my junkyard 6.0 and started the build. I got my 408 running N/A in my '69 Nova last summer. It's been down since the winter getting a pair of 66mm GTK-650 turbos fitted up. After a several month long break I got back on it this weekend. Maybe in a few weeks I'll be able to report how a 408 works with a pair of 66mm turbos.
