A little about my car, it is a 94 Mustang gt 5 speed. Completely stock engine, and I have 3:73 gears. I just picked up my hot side yesterday which was made by B&G (if anyone is running this on a sn95 let me know, i have a question). I will be running a Holley Systemax upper and lower intake, and all of the necessary fuel system upgrades. I just have a couple questions, my first is what do I do with my maf? In some of the pictures that I am seeing Im not seeing one on any of the charge pipes, and Does it go before or after the turbo? Will any type work as long as it has the right calibration? Also im a little confused on the fuel system, I know to run a bigger pump, and bigger injectors, but what about rail pressure? Can I keep the factory regulator and is it adjustable? If not, what pressure should I run if I have 42lbers.. Im wanting to run a 70-76mm turbo @ 8psi until I can stud my heads then I will work my way up to 10-12psi. I know the block's limits and I am going to try and stay below them all that I can.

Is this more of a street car? 70mm is a 9sec turbo and a jb will have a little lag on the street. I prefer the instant boost responce. What brand turbo are you going with?

Well I am wanting to go with more volume and low boost. THe car will be a street/strip car, and I know if I go with a big charger it will not light near as fast which is ok. Im not looking for any particular brand, although I would like something with an attached wastegate so I dont have to cut into my hot side. I can get a S475 fairly cheap around here, but I dont think they are wastegated? I noticed alot of people running garrets on here, Im going to look into the size specs on some of these chargers because Im not too familiar with them. ALso how big is a HX40?

You're not really going to find anything suitable with an internal wastegate, and if you did it's unlikely it will flow nearly enough to keep boost reasonable. HX40s are typically 58-60mm compressor.

Definatlly go with an external gate dumped, you can get by running a smaller a/r because the exhaust doesnt have to pass through the turbine. The new 66mm turbo from precision is a beast, I'm running the new 62mm cea turbine and I'm impressed.

Awesome, I definitely need all the room that I can get I am wanting to see some pictures of some sn95's with the BG hotside setup. It looks to me that the charger will set very close to the sheet metal around the strut mount so I may have to run something smaller. As far as dumping the wg can I just straight out dump it or do I need to run it back into the exhaust? I will check into the turbos as well.

a 70mm would give u a little room to grow (600hp), but the stock block not so much.the 76mm would be too large unless u add some extra displacement. a drawthru Maf would hinder hp.A blowthru MAF mounted on the charge side would work way better. A masterpower T-70 is great for the price

I am running the B&G hot side with a MP70, the turbo is a little close to the alt. everything else is good.

As far as your WG goes, depending on your emissions laws of your state if you have them or not is how you can route your wg exhaust. If no emissions you can atmosphereic dump no problems, if emissions you have to route it back into your exhaust before the cat.

you'll need a blow through maf calibrated for 42lbs injectors, I've used pro-m so I can say they work good. You'll need a aftermarket boost ref. regulator for efi, a 255 walbro intank fuel pump will be good . And a t70 turbo, You'll will also need a tune after this is put on like, custom chip with dyno tune on it . wideband is needed also. Just read on here and you'll learn what you need to know.

Read about my build in the hall of fame section...

    I run a 70mm with 0.96A/R with B&G hotside.
Stock block but not stock heads.

It's been a while since i've updated my thread, but my install is complete on my '95 and i'm just chasing a few fluid leaks right now. I'll try and get some pictures up over the next few weeks. A few things of note for the '95 if your havnt already figured these things out.

B&G headers should already have a v-band provision for your wastegate so there should be no cutting involved. Your wastegate is going to sit right about where your ABS module is. The module has to be dealt with in one way or another, either by rebending lines or by removing it. I used an ABS delete manifold and bent the lines a lil by hand and it seems to work just fine. Brian no longer runs the wastegate back into the downpipe as there was an issue with pipes cracking. I thought about taking it to a shop and having it done, but it would be really really difficult (aka expensive) and elaborate to have it done. BTW...when it opens it is definately noticeable. The fitment of the hot side was absolutely top notch. You will notice that the downpipe will rest a bit on the #3 or #4 header when you tighten it up. This is normal....

With the 94/95, i think having a custom cold side built is probably the way to go. Brian's fit on my car, but there was a lot of grinding that needed to be done to get the pipe into the passenger side fenderwell. This winter i plan on taking that pipe off and shortening it a bit as its length makes it a difficult fit.

I'm currently using a PT6865 with a .68 A/R on a 331 w/AFR 185 heads. Boost response is great and begin to feel it around ~2500 ish with full boost before 3k. Nice turbo, seems to be well matched. Putting the turbo onto the flange is a pain, because the flange sits close to the sheetmetal but once you clock the turbine and compressor, you will see that there is plenty of room for plumbing. There is a hole that will need to be widened out so that you can run the drain line through...ill try and get you a picture of that when i have time. Finding a filter that fits was a pain. I ended up ordering 4 from Summit so that i could get the right one on the first shot.

Bumblebee's build was an awesome reference for me through the process as I have yet to find anyone else that has so compleatly documented a '94/95. We are both running Megasquirt and he was a huge help with that. It has a learning curve, but i like ditching the MAF sensor and having more control of my tune. I'll try and take some pictures this week, anything else particular you want to see?

Thanks for the info everyone, I say I have a BG hotside. I bought this from Delk Performance, THEY said it was a used BG Custom turbo Stage 1 hot side made for 94/95? It didnt come with a down pipe, and it also does not have a place for a wastegate. Its very heavy duty and well made. For you guys that have this hot side, can I keep my a/c and will it clear a motorcraft oil filter? I would love to see some pictures of youre set up just so i know how much clearance I will have. Also I do not have any emmisions so I can just dump my wastegate but will it be loud? Like straight pipe exhaust loud? Thanks everyone and I will catch up on some of the sn buildson here.

some people think venting the wastgate to the atmosphere sounds cool, however i don't like it, i think it is loud and covers up your turbo sound ,,and am plumbing mine back into the exhaust system
