I was reading. An article on mustang50.com about a stock 5.0 with an hp kit with a 60mm. They ran 42lb injectors and turned fuel pressure down to 27 psi. My question is why? Why wouldn't say 30-36lb injectors and 40-42psi fuel pressure be better? Setup was using a single 255 pump.

They could get away with 36ers on a stock 5.0 pushing 350-380. But if you want more then that you want 42s, they should give you enough fuel to max a stock block. A lot of pple go with 60lbers on a stock block

So dropping fuel pressure is just a means of letting less fuel into the cylinders?

Yes. Lower fuel pressure would allow the pulse width to remain close to stock while using the larger injectors.......... maybe running stock tune, and maf with the larger injectors? Doesn't sound like the best setup.

    Need more information........ 42's @ 27psi = 33 lb/hr. Seems like a strange setup.

If its the stage 1 5.0 kit, I have this kit. I highly reccomend not usisng the c&l 73 or the 42#, talk to a tuner first. I bought this kit and installed it, brought it to my tuner and the electronics and injectors were close to maxed out (fine for my set-up now), but he recommended 60# and a blow through maf for any real power to be made, dont get me wrong, this kit is more than capable of splitting a stock block, just do some research first
