building the intake manifold where the intake tubes were spiraled.

The idea was that when water drains {well in this hemisphere} it rotates clockwise, which is what they were hoping to replicate by making the intake tubes twist in a spiral to the carb, and also in the same firing sequence to said engine.

I remember reading this in either Hot Rod, or Car Craft magazine in the early 80's. There were several prototypes shown in the magazine, but I never heard anything else about it.

i know that since there wasn't anything else said about them there had to be some thing in the way keeping them from being used in racing.

I wonder what the findings were on these strange intakes, good, or bad.

Anyone remember this?

The intakes I was speaking about all had individual runners, and tuned like headers.

I can see their thinking on this. Since fluid drains clockwise, just have the plenum setup like the firing order, but fuel injection probably made it obsolete as soon as it came out.
