i have already purchased a built C4 with a brake and it also has a JW ultra bell for a 302/351. along with the transmission i also got a 4000 stall...here are my questions

    1. should i sell the JW ultrabell and use a 2.3 bellhousing and a 2.3 size converter or use what i gotwith an adapter?

    2. what stall is reccomended for my setup? i have a fresh rebuilt longblock, ported e6 manifold, ported stock garrett turbo, 3 inch stinger exhaust, front mount intercooler, boport 1.9 cam/springs etc, 7.5 rear end with moser axles and an freshly rebuilt track loc. and a compucar nitrous 75 wet shot. going to run a moats quarter horse with my AEM wideband

3.15-20 PSI and a 75 shot ok on 93 pump gas?

    1. If you decide to use what you have, you'll need the adapter and a custom built flexplate to match the 2.3 bolt pattern. The offset might be different also but I'm not 100% on that one.

    2. 4000 is probably a good start.

    3. I ran 20 psi on the stock turbo with a 30 shot using 93 pump gas and never had any issues. Keep your tune in check and don't get crazy with the timing.

the converter i have is a 4000 that is set up for a SBF..im going to assume that this wont footbrake near that on a 2.3 correct?

what kind of powet and times were you running with 20 psi on the stock turbo and nitrous?

I don't know but maybe you can contact the people who built the converter and find out how much torque is required to reach that 4000 stall.

The engine was putting down around 280-290 rwhp. With a race weight of 3000lbs, the car would run consistent 8.0 @ 88 MPH in the 1/8th mile. The 60ft would average 1.8 on a street radial tire. I'm sure this combo could have went quicker and faster if I spent more time on it but have since moved on to a different combo.

there are two C4 bellhousing on Ebay right now. Cost is 270.00 I believe a piece. Buy it now. I'm sure you could sell your housing to afford one of these. I'd jump on it though as they go fast. They had three and sold on to someone I know, so thats how i know. You can use a V8 housing I believe, but you need a 2.3 stall, flexplate, and the adaptor from 2.3 to 5.0. I was told hughs has the convertor, and rockauto.com has the flexplates.

Just FYI no it wouldn't be the same stall. The reason for this is simple. The stall is estimated based on the "K" factor of the converter. It's a function of the torque and the K factor of the converter. The typical formula is K*tq^.5. That means that my 4.3L V6 with 245 ft-lbs and a K140 ('vette/S10 converter) would have a stall of: 2191rpm which is probably about right since this was a "2200 stall" on an S10. On a BBC with 450 ft-lbs the stall would be 2969 rpm or so. Then again that's what restalling is for and these are just generalized guidlines.

There's a guy on the forums that makes CNC adapters to bolt a 5.0 bellhousing onto a 2.3. I think it's $175 and it looks like a very nice piece.
