i figured theres so many other full size chevys on here i would go ahead and throw mine in the mix.

You can read about my truck in my for sale thread. i decided to go ahead and keep it.

I then decided it needed a little bit of boost, and a couple good friends of mine run turbos so i had access to some throw away parts.

and my friend sold me his spare csu 850 and i picked up a pro hat from walt

Then i picked up a couple turbos from another friend of mine and managed to find a place to hang them.

still plenty more work to do. should be interesting how this turd runs when its all done.

i had a 31" wide one in there. have to switch to a 26" wide one and notch the tanks a little for the turbine housings.

My truck was going to be a BBC and a turbo 400 and then the guy I bought it from lost interest. He said he would have sold me all the stuff but I never asked the price cause Im sure it would have scared me, cause he had everything from the carb down to a serp belt setup for it.

bbc is hard to beat. my motor makes over 700 at the flywheel on pump gas with plenty of torque everywhere. now add a little boost...

I want to put a 4.8 or 5.3 in my truck pretty bad... Or dare I say 8.1? Has anybody built an 8.1 ever?

the 8.1s are ok. its nice to get the latest model one with the hydraulic roller lifters but the water holes on the decks are different from the earlier stuff so head gaskets are tricky. gen 5 and 6 gets kind of goofy with the little changes. ive built a bunch of 540s from those blocks and they hold up good if you dont make too much power.

ive ben thinking about an 8.1 my self. the other day a buddy of mine GAVE me an 8.1 crusader motor that stock has 385 hp and 500 lb ft. i wonder what it would have with a couple of t4's or a 100mm holeset or somethin?? im thinking it might just go in my boat when i blow the small block. the motor i got is the 8.1 mpi version and is a turn key crate motor from crusader. so the wireing is all self contained like the brain and everything. plus i was told the 8.1 mpi has all forged internals right from the factory....???? not sure if its true or not, but i bet it is. not to hyjack but if anyone knows if this is true, please let me know. good luck with your project, its lookin sick. ian adair

Only way to tell would be to give the motor to me... I'll pick it up :D Good start to a neat project(8.1) The motors are a good foundation but I believe the pistons from the factory are cast/hypers - not forged.
