i've had a set of 3.23's laying around for a while. however i have lacked motivation to put them in.. :D

i have since stumbled across an offer to trade a 3.23 rear end for my 3.42 rear end. my question is.. will i notice enough of a gain to make it worth my while? i dd the car and it sees the freeway a lot, so i would like the 3.23's for the freeway at least.

but.. will the .19 difference in gear really make it worth it for turbo reasons though? (staying in boost longer) i figure i'll probably only see a couple more mph's out of each gear. i guess every little bit is worth it though. not sure if it will hurt my acceleration enough that it will cancel out any difference i would see in the top end.

    what are your guy's thoughts?

just calculated it and here's the difference (shifting at 6,000rpms)

    3.23's 3.42's

    1st - 46mph 1st - 44mph
    2nd - 88mph 2nd - 83mph
    3rd - 142mph 3rd - 134mph

    so 2mph in 1st, and 5mph in second. :/
