We're really just givin ya some shit, you'll be fine. If you want my 2 cent's, jet that thing waay up to start, I mean like to where it runs rough at full throttle. Then start jetting down from there.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not implying that at all. Nobody gets into the 8s with a car (that has doors) by accident. However:

I can take it normally! Lol!

That was the plan. I live at sea level so I have 99 jets in the carb now and will work down from there. Gets damn hot and humid here in the summer too! I am thinking it will end up with 78 in the fronts and 88 in the rears. Just a hunch tho! Set full advance at 38* and pull 2 out for evey #, Think I will leave the mechanical advance alone. This stock dizzy is at full advance at 3000rpm.

Been there done that. The 514 in the 8 sec Falcon broke a crank at 7000rpm. What a disaster!! Hit the wall in Baytown HRP, OUCH!!

Some pics of progress. Intercooler upper bracket fabbed ready to paint. REAL TIGHT but no touchy anywhere. Work'n on the lower bracket now. Had to enlarge the hole in the radiator support a bit. Will hammer & dolly around the hole to straighten it up before repainting. Also got the sump in and tank mounted. Now gotta figure out where the fuel pump and filter go. Since the hotside is on the passenger side I will run it up the driverside.

I forgot to mention I did swap the left and right spindles and moved the calipers to the rear. No problems with the sway-bar now. Front-end is completed as well as the rear.

:chacha:RODS ARE HERE!! Now off to the machinist. Hopefully this won't take long and I can assemble the engine!

My Cuda had drum brakes on the front and I did a disk swap. The caalipers were on the front of the spindle. My "S" has a sway-bar and the caliper was hitting the sway-bar. The spindles are symetrical so I swapped left to right and this put the calipers on the rear. Just had to finess the new brake line a bit.

    Thanks,
just cut 3 two inch holes and welded the sump in then sprayed it with black chip-guard.

Slow goin at this point. Gotta paint a Jeep for a friend Friday so I had to stop and start cleaning my shop. Fricken metal shavings went everywhere. Also the dust off the cut-off saw is allover everything. Need the extra funds for more parts! :chacha:

Got a call from the machinist Friday telling me my 400 was done. Went Saturday to pick it up and after it was loaded in the truck I noticed that the stock main bolts were in it?? Of course the owner of the machine shop was in Dallas racing so no one to gripe at. After I tore the bag open then is when I seen that the mains had NOT been line-honed nor was my girdle fitted. S^O^B!!!! :bang: :bah:

I am speechless!! Going on 5 months at the machinist!! WTF! :bah:

I built my cal trac style bars and it wasn't really hard. It was time consuming but well worth while. All I had was a wire feed 110 welder and basic hand tools. I cut the 1/8" plate with a 4" angle grinder. I had to have the aluminum spring bushings machined with steel inserts...

    Done already!
We made three sets. Gave a set to a friend to install on his 63 Maxwedge. He took it to Navasota yesterday at a huge meet. He made the finals and broke out final round. I asked about the traction issues and he told me after a few passes he had them dead-on! First time he ever yanked the front wheels!! He loves them!
