My old truck hooked good with the CE's Slid-a-Links but only had a 500" RB N/A.

The s400 series is definetly a proven turbo........
T4orT6 really the flange size ain't important at the power levels he is wanting...more important is the turbine wheel size..I would recommend anything from a gt42 sized wheel maybe up to a gt45 sized wheel....both will flow enough to take care of his needs now......the 1.32 96mm BW wheel just seems to big for a steet type ride.....

also the gt42 has quite a few turbine housings available.....ain't the BW kind of limited with the 96 wheel.

Remember, this 383 has a max rpm around 6000 maybe 6500! I would like power from 2500rpm up!

    Would this one suffice??

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280554932201&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Or is the a/r to much for street use? As stated above, the max rpm for my 383 is around 6-6500. I would like boost to come in around 2500 up to max rpm!

I may later decide to go allout and put a cage in it and drive the Fish to the track 20 minutes from my casa!!

There you go! Except, buy a regular S400 for $200 less from one of our radical vendors here, unless you just have to have that polished cover. (I have a feeling you'll be upgrading to a 480 soon......)

Question...... am I wrong for thinking that 2500- 6500 is going to be tough to do efficiently? Is it going to be intercooled? What fuel? 800 flywheel hp is going to require 15-17 psi (given it makes 400 na), and cast iron BB Mopar heads don't have the best combustion chamber. The 1.32 may be a little laggy, but with a 800 hp street car....... lag can be a good thing. There is the 83mm 1.10 also.

Yes, there will be an intercooler. 93 octane pump gas. I am thinking 10-12 psi on the street! (Stock 383 produces 335HP and it isn't stock, Nice cam-intake-headers and .030 overbore, roller rockers and larger int & exh valves in 906's mildly ported and polished should pick up 75-100 ponies) I too was thinking the 1.32 will be a bit laggy but with the 3.55 posi and the 4 speed this could work?? My 440 is pumping 500hp with the 906's now. The Cuda now has 3.91's in it and blows the tires off right now thru all 4 gears. There is 300' of black marks in front of my place now. Crappy azz 14"radials!
Since it will see "some" track time this may be benificial. Most of the tracks around here are 1/8th mile. Only one 1/4 mile and it is nearly 100 miles away.

I don't know if you'll be "done" as you say, but, I think you'll be happier.

The 915s aren't so bad. :) Seriously though, that's another part of why I'm a firm advocate in 86ing iron heads altogether. They don't do you any favors, and any money you think you'll be saving by sprucing iron heads up instead of buying Eddies goes right in the toilet when you actually DO buy a set of Eddies for your next build. :)

To everyone in this thread who has used the word "lag" in any of their posts: have you ever been in a car with a motor over 300" and a turbo?

I do have a set of 1967 915's with 2.14int and 1.88 exh valves, pocket ported?? Would these be better to use the 915's rather than the 906's...

Hahaha, no, I was just pointing out the one wedge head Chrysler made which didn't have a terrible chamber.

383 is in the machine shop..Will know by the end of the week if everything checks out. Checking for cracks and all. Has a small groove in 1 cylinder. Once all the squaring is done they will bore the grooved cylinder to determine what the exact overbore will be then it is off to the races!! Trying to find a good forged piston is a pain in the azz! Just ordered the Eagle H-beam rods. Gonna get all this balanced. Also ordered the 440 source girdle so I can get that to the machine shop so it can be fitted. Hopefully I will have it back in a couple of weeks and start the build.. Gonna use the ported 906's until I can sell my Honda 350X trike and then I will order the Eddy's.

I have a Edelbrock Torker 2 single plane intake now. Can anyone elaborate on this?? I assume that the single plane is the choice for turbo.

Changing the K-frame out for the 73 with disc-brakes and spool mounts. This will give me a bit more room for the down-pipe.
I will post pics of the engine as soon as I get it back and start assembly..

I went with diamond pistons with tool steel pins because that is what my machine shop guy wanted to use. They were pretty spendy though I think they were like $900.

Torker2 is a good all around intake, actually makes respectable low end tq and peak HP, it's fine for your build IMO.
