i blew air through mine, no metal shavings came out but you could see a fine steel/iron in the oil that was in it. It spun really free so I hooked up the oil line and ran the drain into a bucket, ran about 3 quarts of oil through it and it looked good so I connected the drain line to the pan and went for a test drive.

Mine is still going strong. I cracked a cast piston at 10psi. Went thru the engine with forged slugs and all ARP studs for everything. I'm working on getting it tuned in (4bbl TBI). I got the AIS water/meth injection setup so now it's time to crank it up to 10-12 psi :2thumbs:

What motor, cubic inch are you running this on? What is the Engine Combo? Are you running twins?

I am building a 360 or a 410 Single Turbo set up now. I need to know more about what really works before I continue....

are these ebay gt45s physically bigger than a master power t70/t76??

physically yes. But a T76 has a 76mm inducer and this has a 69.8mm inducer.

Chacata based on the link u gave for the map.. seems like the turbo wont flow more than 600ish hp.. and based on the map.. 1 of these is a lil too small for a 350cui motor.. and i think i find it true.. when i used to run 12psi it seem to run the best on my 350 and it would rev all the way to 5200rpm then i tried 14psi it would only rev to about 4900rpm.. then my motor broke.. then this last time same specs as the old motor but this time i tried 19psi and i couldnt make it past 4500rpm it would actully die out by 4000rpm... but from 3000-4000 it ripped like no other :chacha: .... so some lil math a 350cui motor at 19psi and 4000rpm (assuming VE is 100%) needs 58 lbs of air 58lbs = 0.4394kg/s to figure out pressure/ratio we take 19(psi)+14.7(atmospheric psi) / 14.7 = 2.0 pressure ratio which is the left column so if u plot those points its just about falling out the center at the map... and the same specs at 5000rpm uses 72lbs of air 72lbs= 0.5455kg/s if u try to plot these points it almost falls off the map.. lol but i might be wrong trying to figure this out so if im doing this wrong then please correct me..

Never assume VE to be 100%, if I recall correctly it's around 80-85%.

well 80-85 ve is for bone stock motors.. most of our motors arent bone stock... aftermarket cam, headers, better exhaust, brings ve up closer to 100ve.. plus ve varies in rpm u can have 100ve at 3000rpm but have 85ve 5000rpm... and most motors with higher compression and aftermarket heads ve is more than 100%

Damn you guys :D this thread got me really thinking about buying 2 of these gt45s for my dart blocked 400" motor, i was fixing to get a couple master power t70s here in the next month or so but not so sure now.....i can get 2 of these for $600 or LESS shipped!! and the funny thing is, i've seen a lot of threads on other forums about failed master power turbos and nothing about these ebay gt45s, and a lot of people are using them as i come to find out....believe me i've spent a LOT of time researching. I think 2 of them on a 400" engine with a t-brake and 4000 stall would be a riot :chacha:

I am in the same boat as you.

I just got 1 last week and all the parts, V Band for exhaust, Waste Gate, Blow off Valve, V Band flanges for cross over, tube to build the hot side etc...........I was going to build a 360 Cu in Small Block Mopar but now I am leaning toward using 2 of these GT45's and making it a 410 CI instead. I was talking to a buddy of mine and he says that 1 of these turbo's will choke a 350 Ci engine. He was saying to run 2 of them and you should easily be able to hit 1000hp and not break a sweat at making 800 to the tires at 1 bar on pump fuel. I guess one of us needs to find out!

the thing is i think those turbos will last a lot longer if people match them up to appropriately sized engines and not try to spin them to 25psi on a motor thats just too big for them....thats why i'm gonna use 2 with about 8psi from each and hopefully that will make my goal without spinning the shaft out of them and blowing out seals/bearings.
