Frank, EFI is a fun task. I went the same route on my old truck. I needed to sort out the EFI issues before I started my turbo project. All is ready now and I am excited to "turbo" it soon. The GT intake is cool, got the same one on mine. Great project, stay with it, that is the hardest part about a complete teardown!

Note: if the stock harness for EFI becomes a pain, call RJM Injection Technologies. I got my harness from them for a Bronco (longer for my truck). They also sell ones for mustangs, which should be what you need. The bonus is they dont have all the extra crap, just the harness wiring you need.

Got everything off the firewall tonight..... I was glad to find the is no noticable holes in the bottom of the cowl, just some surface rust..... I am still going to remove the upper cowl to treat the surface rust that is on the topside of the lower cowl panel as a preventative measure..... I took the drip rail trim off.....

I was also glad to find that no one butchered the under dash or under hood wiring harnesses..... The only harness that has any damage in the tail light harness.....

I only have a few small brackets and a couple trim pieces leaft to remove, and all that will be on the car then is the steering box, front and rear suspension which I still need right now to move the car around..... Then I can get to work.....

Wow, I almost wish that I would have done this to mine! But then the progress that I've made in the last four years might not have been even as much as I have made!!! Kudo's! Keep up the great work and the pictures!

    Thanks and I will.....

Removed the last of the interior brackets and wiring..... I pressure washed the entire car inside and out then started stripping the paint.....

This is turning into one of my favorite builds. I can't wait to see what you make out of it. I know it will be worth a dozen times more after all the labor and heart you are putting into it.

Why not just cut the floor pan from behind the front seats back and scrap it? Do a nice back half job. Car looks good though. Will be brand new when it's done.

Thanks, I don't know about a dozen times more but should definately be worth a couple bucks anyways.....

I have had tubbed cars in the past and don't really care to have another one.....

Finished stripping the rear panel this morning, also did the driver side quater..... That rear panel was a real pain because it has alot of curves/pockets and it had a ton of paint on it..... So far the only bondo I have found is in the 2nd pic, just in front of and behind the fenderwell opening..... The last pic is most of the paint I removed and have been saving in a box just too see how mich there is.....

Cool. If that is the only bondo, you got it made. Good straight car.

There was a guy that raced on the street a lot around here that used to have a Maverick. It was not the prettiest thing (tan / brown / black) but had a killer stance and a pretty healthy sbf with a poop load of gas on it, cowl hood etc.

I've always liked Mavericks that don't scream look I'm in the 80's! Looking forward to your build.

    So far that's it, I sure hope I don't much more..... I don't think I will.....

Thanks, I sure hope this one looks decent when I'm done.....

Hell no I'm not tubbing it, some one else suggested it..... My last Mav had 28x10.5 Mickey slicks and it wasn't tubbed.....

I took a ride down to Sarasota this morning to pick up a floor shift steering column, I ended up getting a fair rear bumper too..... I got back to the shop and did a little more reorganizing, trying to find places too put all these damn parts.....

Finally got to work on the car a little more..... got the paint stripped off the driver side door jamb and rocker, what a pita that was due to all the curves, pockets and such..... Also straightened out the pinch weld on the bottom of the rocker half way decent.....
