I have not been on here in quite a while, since building my second car. I have Big Stuff 3 ECU in 91 Mustang Coupe w/ 331 Single Turbo. Has base map and car runs and drives. Now for some unknown reason I can not get my laptop to connect to the BS3 ECU. Has been working fine for about two weeks now and then nothing. Connection is through a USB to Serial adapter. I have done all of the nesessary troubleshooting. Removed BigComm and USB drivers from laptop. Reinstalled everything and still nothing. Changed com port back and forth and still nothing. Batt volt is good. Checked all fuses good. Even though car runs I can not connect to the ECU. Needing to clean up base tune a little, but can not connect. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Brian :bang:

Not yet. Friend was supposed to bring his laptop over but forgot his power cable. Think I will get a new adapter and give it a try.

As the fella said try another adapter.
So work better than others, some don't work at all.

OK then. Here is what has happened. I purchased USB adapter that Monte suggested. No Luck. Also tried with a different laptop. No Luck. So I removed the ECU and sent back to BS3. Hope to get back by end of next week. Thanks for all the hep and suggestions.

That is a bummer. Most times it is just a cable and you in.

Can somebody explain to me why Big Stuff 3 still uses a serial port adapter??? I here about people all the time having connectivity problems and in most cases it has something todo with their serial port to USB adapter! It seems kinda half ass to me that you spend thousands of dollars on engine management for you car and have to rely on some POS adapter cord or some ancient ass computer!!! Pretty sure they haven't put a serial port on a laptop for almost a decade now!!! Why the serial port???
