figured id let u guys know that there is now a 76mm turbo on ebay that is cheaper then the gt45,it is 330 bucks shipped but unfortunatly the only person who has them that cheap u wouldnt want to buy them from as he dont offer a warranty (chad).and other vendors are trying to get 500 bucks for them. but i bet in a month or 2 the prices from the other vendors will come down

$499 shipped? Fuck that! For another $100 you could get a S475. It seems like they are moving to the next phase of Chinese bullshit where they start charging normal prices for their shit so people start thinking of them as name brand. I would be down with a $200 one, but $500, hellz to the nah.

thats not really a 78mm turbo he lists it as 78mm but its really a 76mm, and form looking at the other ad on ebay were they show u the measurement with a caliper im willing to bet the on3 measures 74mm not 76

if it wasnt from on3 id even be willing to purchase one of those to test out for that lil bit of money but i think im going to stick with the s400/s475

whoa, hold up now, help me find 1) a vband for the "gt45" and two..
that gt45 listed at the start of this thread,

    is it basically a t70? if so a na 400 hp 350 ...
the turbo map I see says that at 7 lbs I'm going to be choking the motor? and i need to run upwards of 15 lbs to be effective?

    As of today:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GT45-HUGE-TURBO-TURBOCHARGER-V-BAND-GT-45-1-05-A-R-F150-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem2a042fc54eQQitemZ180458865998QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

The measurements and dimensions on the sale are surprisingly accurate.

Somewhere in the middle of this thread, it is told what kind of v band this turbo uses and where to get it, who to ask for, etc... :2thumbs:

Thanks, I have a vband and downpipe on the way. :2thumbs:

how about the size, will this handle a low boost (8psi) on a 324 rwhp 350ci chevy without choking the motor?

does fine on my 327, if worst comes to worst, run it- choke it- then you'll be set up to run a pt88!

A few places on ebay sell the outlet flange & v-band. Do a search for GT45 v band and they will come up. They are cheaper than the previous mentioned sellers price and both are made not in the USA.

Are you saying a T4-1.05 A/R with a 87mm exhaust wheel is going to choke a 400 BHP 350ci? Ain't going to happen. You will run out of compressor first and start blowing a lot of hot air limiting power.

I don't know, I was asking after looking at some compressor maps.

Tuning this is proving to be more difficult than I expected. I think I'm running out of fuel but at 5psi boost I'm able to turn 7200 RPM where as pre turbo I was shifting arund 58-6200 depending on the gear I was in (have a rev limited handy will install this weekend). I ran 12.62 @ 110 NA through the exhaust and street tires, it has a LOT more power and when I accidentally hit 15 psi and blew the hoses off it was a monster.

I just have a holley blue now with the 19 psi spring upgrade in it, it will run WOT for about 3 seconds and lay over, I think it's fuel maybe? 6 psi initial and showing 12 psi under 5 pounds of boost though (is dropping off to 11 psi), over all I'm pleased with the turbo so far other then that at an idle it's pushing air.. but size wise it seems to be working fine!

I can't wait to find the problem, maybe in the fuel system? my friend has an AEM wideband I'm going to put on it this weekend and see if I can get the bugs worked out.. any suggestions in the mean time would be much welcomed.

time to buy a pump, the blue just won't keep up. at 10psi my "black pump" with the bypass blocked off still will only support 7 psi boost with 6 psi base fuel pressure.

I would do the fuel system upgrade now and worry about the wideband after.

Something is wrong if that turbo is pushing air at idle. Once you get the WBO2 on it then it will be easier to figure out what is going on. With that fuel system it probably is running lean up top.
