is it carb or inj? if inj,you can pull out fuel and use pure meth,if carb i think they want to use less than 30% meth to keep afr from going too fat and losing power.lots of good info on ais website.

WELL...I ran my car for quite some time on 93 octane and then I finally tried a little C16 and it loves it like a fat kid loves cake. I thought about it and studied it for some time and I bought a trunk mount kit yesterday from Rodney at AIS. My car is non intercooled blow thru and Rodney feels that I can get the same performance, boost, and timing levels from 93 octane and windshield washer fluid. I felt like he wanted to tell me that it would even run better, but didn't want to get my hopes up lol. It will be a 3 nozzle setup (one before the turbo and 2 in the charge pipe). I am VERY stoked about the idea of running 20 psi boost with 38º initial timing and 24º under full boost (the same tune up I was using on straight C16) with only regular 93 pump gas in the tank. I will try to report back with my results on the kit, but I must say that the phone service from AIS is right up there with Kevin at CSU. VERY helpful and glad to answer any and all questions.

Pretty risky , but I guess everything is when running 20psi of boost . lol

Rodney says run a 70/30 mix of water meth on a carb due to the fact that it can fail . If it fails with only 30% meth , the AFRs might stay safe enough to not kill the motor . But what about timing ?

That said , I feel there is no way to get even close to C-16 on a 70/30 mix and 93 . Maybe I'm wrong , but if you run a C-16 tune with pump gas and water/meth , then be prepared to spen some money on a new motor if for any reason that system failed .

Keep in mind , this is blow-thru .

Well it's like I told Rodney, even though it is 20 psi, my motor is very mildly cammed (.488 intake .510 exhaust) so the power level is not really that high. I used to run this same tuneup on 15 psi with straight 93 before my turbo started leaking oil. Rodney sells a fail safe for the kit for and extra $150, but that was not it the budget right now. I'm not planning to get very ballsy with the tune until I have something like that on the car too.

I realize that it's blow thru...someone needs to tell that truck of yours that they don't work too because it has not realized it lol...

I got my kit put on Wednesday, and did a little tuning at the local TNT Thursday, and last night, went and bracket raced. I have only bracket raced one other time since going turbo. My car is a total dog through 60' without the trans brake. It went 3 rounds without changing the dial and went out at 8 cars went 7.45 on a 7.46 (1/8) in foot brake. It was having consistent 2.02 60' times and crossing at 104 mph lol. Most of the people had no clue how to judge a car at the stripe that was such a dog off of the line and a freight train on the big end. So far I like the AIS kit on my car and if anyone is wondering it seems to be VERY consistent for bracket racing.

The water meth kit helped me a TON with consistancy. Prior, when the blower got hot due to hot lapping in later rounds the car would fall off a tenth....

Great to hear your your happy with your kit and the consistent times your getting. Its something we found out a long time ago as well.

With your big fluctuations on power, from street to strip setting. Your either going to need different jets for the track and the street. Or just use a controller which will allow you to run the same jets on the street that you would use at the track.

As for jetting. I would use a 10 precompressor and two 3's after.

Like someone already mentioned. You should get right around 5-7 passes with a half gallon tank.

hey rodney i bought the stage 1 kit with the black trunk mount from you about 4 months or so ago , i ordered it for my car 302 stock block 1990 stang EFI but now i am going carb
i wanted to know if 80% water and 20% meth is fine and with the 80% water and 20% meth would that bring up my octane some what ?? i will be running straight 93 octane and would like to increase the octane with out having to buy 5 gallons of c-16 at $95 here in new york wow lol . thats the one reason why i desided to go meth injection the cost of race gas is crazy and i would spend about $270 just for a rental day on gas alone anyway i will be running a brent davis carb set up with your kit witch i love lol it has two nozzles and i will be running an Intake Manifold, X-CELerator, Single Plane do you also recommend me drilling and tapping the front and back for the two nozzles or should i do just one nozzle on the front . i am so confused . the carb stuff is really new to me but thanks to the search button and brent i am learning alot more . as for the carb i will be running a 750 holley carb with the crutch from brent .

Hi Stan, we've been away and recently just signed up as a supporting vendor again for this site. Still have questions about running a water methanol injection system?

Do the big power guys running your system still just use the 1/4 hose? I have been talking to some diesel guys about bigger hose, and was wondering if you had any knowledge, or better yet, access to bigger methanol safe fittings and hose.
