Here are some pics of the FPDM's and completed wiring installation. I am really pleased with the way this turned out.

So do those things work kind of like a BAP, but from the factory and for returnless fuel systems? I saw a build, maybe on here, where somebody had three Ford GT pumps hooked up to three of those controllers.

A BAP increases the voltage from 12v to 17v to overdrive the pumps. You can however run a BAP before or after the FPDM's though to increase the maximum output of your pumps.

An FPDM Pulse Width Modulates the voltage to vary the speed of the pumps for a returnless sytem.

Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) turns the voltage on and off possibly hundreds of times per second (I don't know the actual frequencys of the Ford FPDM's) The FPDM PWM's on a Duty Cycle from 0 to 100%. 50% being equivalent to 6 volts 75% equivalent 9 volts and so on.They use PWM because lowereing the voltage to a DC motor will cause it to overheat.

I'm using 3 GT pumps with 3 FPDM's also, 1 for each Pump. I posted up pics of the pumps on page 5 of this thread.

So how is that wired into the ECM. Do you just do a parallel connection from one signal wire and branch out to the separate modules?

    Yes, and no.

You parallel the duty cycle wire from the PCM to all 3 FPDM's.

The FPDM OK duty cycle feedback output from the FPDM to the PCM can only come from 1 FPDM, though.

So that system does nothing to increase the flow of each pump, just lets the ECU reduce the flow for returnless. I imagine three GT pumps will support quite a lot of hp without having to worry about a BAP.

3 GT Pumps with a 1/2" line (as I have) to the engine will support 800 RWHP @ 80% duty cycle without a BAP.

I have a 40a BAP installed, but am just going to run it @ 13.5 volts as a voltage regulator, in case of a bad alternator, etc. Besides they are more effecient at 13.5 volts. They flow about 20% more fuel but only draw 10% more current.

I really like the way you're setting up the fuel system. I'll probably do something similar on my own car. :2thumbs:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I fired up the car 2 weeks ago and after it ran for about 10 minutes fuel started coming out of all of the NPT fittings. It turns out the Teflon paste is no good for fuel. Anyway I pulled the tank out and pulled apart all of the NPT fittings, cleaned everything and resealed everything with Gasoila Thread Sealant. http://www.gsasupplyco.com/gaethse.html I Fired it up and the fuel system is finally done.

Unfortunately something else has failed as my Fuel Trims are 40% on Bank 2. No codes, which I find odd, cause it sounds like it is running on 7 cylinders.

I feel like a dumbass. I reviewed my datalogs this morning. Yesterday I was so focused on the fuel trims and and O2 levels when the car was running, I didn't notice at the time my IAT's were 330*. I guess the first order wil be a new IAT sensor.

I also noticed my fuel trims are within 3-4% when the RPM's are at 2500-3000.

The IAT's were reading 255 on a cold engine prior to my first startup both days. The IAT indications also shoot up to 360* at 2500-3000 RPM.

About 10 years ago I JB Welded a brass NPT on my stock press in IAT sensor so it wouldn't pop out under boost.

Is a Lightning IAT sensor threaded?

If so, anyone know what the Ford part # is?

    LOL

That picture sure gets around. It is on 60 forums that I know of. Everything from Miata, LS1, Oldsmobile, Fairlady Z forums to Viper, R31, Falcon, and Mopars. It is in Forums from Russia to Autrallia.

That picture has made a lot of people smile.

I found this from YB, I forgot all about this site and am thankful to have seen the pic. Awesome build, can't wait to see what it will do. Glad you are in good health also.
