So anyways made a little more progress. Fuel system is done. The cell mounts underneath the trunk floor just like stock, only this one holds about 27 gallons. The Flex Fuel (E85) sensor is plumbed into the return line, as you can see there are two return line fittings in the cell so that there is a dedicated return which doesn't get restricted by the sensor.

I decided the cruising rpm would be too high with 27.5" tires and 3.54 gears even with the .78 Gear Vendors overdrive (which equates to about a 2.76 final drive ratio). Problem is you can't get numerically lower gear ratio with a Dana 60..... soooooooo..... had to bite the bullet and go with a fabbed 9" rear end. I would have liked to gone with 40 spline axles but then I would have had to use a spool and I wanted a Detroit Locker, so 35 spline axles will have to do. I got the locker with 2.91 gears so that makes for a final drive ratio of about 2.27 to 1 with the overdrive engaged. Even with the short tires that will give me 70 mph at 1,950 rpm.

Another bullet to bite was the brake upgrade. As heavy as this car is (4,000 lb race weight) and as fast as it will be able to go (say about 170 mph in the quarter) I decided the old brakes were not going to be up to snuff. Here's a pic of my old rear setup 12" rotors with single piston calipers next to one my new 14" rotors.

I'm using a 8" power brake booster and master cylinder from Master Power brakes. You can see it in this photo:

Stopped by the shop http://www.highspeedwelding.com tonight and got some more progress pics. Dennis Spal has been busy. He got the rear end all buttoned up and a good start on the new brake lines. In these pics you can see some of the nice fab work he did on the rear suspension. Notice the fabbed 9" rear end with custom back brace notched for shock clearance... and notice the spring perch mounting sans u-bolts. I wish I could afford to paint the car because fab work as nice as this deserves a better background.

Seeing your build has been the perfect motivation for my E bod. My reality can only be a tenth of yours though.

That's because I was able to salvage one collector from my old turbo setup, that way I only had to buy one new one. Burns stainless collectors ain't cheap.
