Speaking of lawnmowers i got a card in the mail friday for a class action law suit on lawnmowers .

It says if you purchased a lawn mower with a gas engine up to 30 HP you could recieive benefits from a class action settlements.

Why : Becuase they lied about the HP rateing on the engines

Hell im pissed to find out my mower only makes 6.5 HP and not 7 HP. Holly shit whats the world comming to.

Yeah I got the same card. My Lawnboy will pwn your shit. 2 cycle=win. That being said I don't envy you guys in "family shops" one bit. Giving yourself a way out is a very very good thing. Even if it boils down to a nasty split you need to be able to CYA at some point in the day.

ED:eek:ne more thing. No matter what you do don't get complacent. That is a killer of men. TV rots the brain, read books instead. Always try to better yourself, and try to capitalize on that. I'm in the IT industry, and working a job that's not the greatest. In the end I realize that why I'm not moving forward is ultimatley MY fault though because I'm doing things other than trying to move forward. You are one of the few variables in your environment that you can actually control. You pretty much have to roll with the rest.

Your edited part is good reading. I agree. You are the only one that can help yourself and progress. You cannot rely on others or just hope you're going to get a hand up somehow.

Don't just limit yourself to dealerships. I work at a retail chain place and do alright. I am an ASE master tech and have my L1. I get 20 per/hr and flag over 80 hrs a week, make 70k a year. Great benefits, health, eye and dental, matching 401k, and 4 weeks of paid time after 5 years. I think I had 28 paid days last year including holidays. At my store they will hire someone with your experience for at least 15 p/hr, pay for your ase's and give you 200 bonus for each one you pass, and a large one for the L1 cert, as well as nice raises each year.
The bad part it is like pulling teeth to get much more than 20 pr/hr at my shop. I will see what happens at my next review, but it may be getting time to move on soon. Definitely a great stepping stone though.
