Alright guys, I read alot of information on here and other sites, some guys seem to have more than i got and run slower and some guys dont have as much and are running faster. The setup is as follows, 331c.i. Detroit speed shops cnc pro topline heads, 850 CSU blow thru carb, victor jr intake, custom solid roller camshaft 224/232 @ 50 579/ 590 lift on a 114 lobe seperation, PA c4 with a 10 inch custom converter by Tourqe converter services in Columbia SC, 3.55 gears, Single Precision HP76 on 18lbs with 26 degrees timing on 110 octane fuel. I know i have left out something so if you have any questions please ask. What do you think, the best time is a 6.22 @ 113.8 in the 1/8mile, no 1/4 mile times as of yet

Seems a bit slow to me. For comparison
185's on a stock stork 302, 14 psi, MP T-70, no cooler, 750 blo thru, 100 octane, 26 total timing, 6.40's at 107. You MPH seems OK, maybe a bit low for that boost and amount of cubes. But ET does seem low. What's the 60 foot ? With that mph, you could be high 5's or very low 6's I think with a good 60.

On that 6.22 run the 60ft was a 1.48, As to your reply i agree the car just seems sluggish out the hole but it checks out at the top of first gear shifting to 2nd

I would think with a trans brake you should get in the low 1.3x's

I also ran 6.22 @ 122 in the 1/8 I think 60 ft was about 1.54 leaving on the t/b on 94 pump gas , I am still tryng to leave the line with some boost( not an easy task ) .if i ever get the turbo to spool on the line i think it's going to make a big difference in my et.

Right now the two step is set on 3300 and it's building about 4-5 lbs, i really think leaving on about 10-12 lbs should really make a diference. I am gonna try a few things this coming thursday night at the track and try to hit the 5's. As i said it has been on about 19 lbs, I turned it to 21 last week and it hit the tires hard and starting spinning once i shifted to 2nd, may have to make some suspension adjustment's.

Would a taller gear (lower numerically, like 3.27) make a car like this 60' better.

Alot of turbo cars will turn on after the 1/8th mile, I bet your car would put down some dam good 1/4 mile times with an average 1/8 time. That is the way mine did.

My old car would run 5.79 at 125mph in the 1/8th(3250lbs)with the 310ci sbf with ported twisted wedges and a GTS76 turbo at around 18-19psi.

im just getting started at this turbo thing but my wife is pissed cause i stay on the net and my phone bill is high lol but i think you have to much carb on the car ... i just had mine built buy the carb shop and with a 351w they wanted me to run a 750 and for some reason they love the 650 double pumper ... they told me an 850 was good to around 1500 plus hp...and on a small cube high rmp combo a 850 would be slow down low is she running rich and what size jets you got in it

I'm sure every carb builder has a different line of thinking on what works and doesn't. I don't think the 850 is set up to go 1500hp. Based on some other cars, this car should run a 9.5X in the quarter mile at around 145mph the way it sits now. I think what he is asking is how to get the car to 60 foot better.

Yes i have a wideband in the car, and i have a msd 6al-2 programable box, The carb has 80 jets in the front where the power valve is and 92 in the back. It was in the low 11's on 18 psi

If you dont mind i have a few questions, What was the 60ft, how much boost were you leaving on, and what transmission type i.e. 2 speed or three speed, and what gears. Thanks.

i understand every body has their own idea of whats best but think about ... fast nitrous and fast n/a cars run the beast when they are lean ... lean and mean ... but not unsafe just a little lean .... to get a car to 60 would be almost anything ,,,,, but just think if you are foot breaking and you have low boost on the line with a rich carb it is not going to make boost cause the engine is getting to much gas and then when you floor it that just makes it worse ... but once the car comes up on boost it pulls like hell ... im not sure how much tunning you have done but before you spend tons of money try going down a on your jets 3 -4 sizes on the front and back keeping the same spread ... lets say u got 80s in the front and 90s in the back if you wen down 4 on the front and back you would be at 76 front and 86 in the back ... start small and 60 foot the car a couple of times dont make a full pull if the car picks up on the 60 you are close if it falls off you can look else where ... also is the car shifting weight well... i lazy chassis will play big on your 60 as well

well the fast nitrous cars i know leave the line with the nitrous ON = good hit and good 60ft .

if he can get it out the hole with more boost and not blow the tires off the ET will pickup for sure.

boostedcoupe how long does it take to build boost 18-19 psi ounce you leave the line ?

78turbocamaro I get what your saying, and dont toataly disagree, I think once I start leaving on 10 lbs or higher that could make a difference. I just added those jets a few days ago to test that theroy, i did have 75 in the front and 89 in the back and ran it again last thursday. The 60 ft was almost the same. 04MX it does not take long to get to full boost, im leaving at 3300 and by 4200 it's all in. ALSO i found a proablem tonight while working on the car. It was boost spiking a little to hard for my likeing and i figured my wastegate was to small for the new turbo, it was a 38mm tial. I ordered a Precision 46mm and put it on tonight but did not get to drive the car. But get this, the valve in the 38 had a lot of corrosion on it and it was stuck slightly open. Might be a problem huh? I think it has not been bleeding boost off fast enough and hitting the overboost on my e boost2 and if thats the case it would be cutting boost down to half of the entered value and then try to go back to your boost setting. so any ways i think now the thing to do is try the car out with the new gate and see what happen's
